San Antonio

Out to WalMart this morning, and I could not catch up with this little box on SKINNY little tires. I thought it was electric, because he really scooted at the lights, but I see an exhaust cutout. I was caught behind traffic, so could not get a shot until the lot. Right hand drive too. He parked on the other side of the lot, and I said I will be quick and catch it; but gone.



I did find someone for LBR to talk to when I parked.

 

I see those little vans around here all the time, up from Mexico. Maybe not that exact one but similar with the skinny tires!

Right hand drive though, I bet that one came from Japan.

 

Just for my own edification.
If I were to hypothetically move to the San Antonio region, are there any areas you guys would recommend looking at or ones to avoid?

 

In GENERAL:
The closer to either ATX or SA, the more it will cost. SA may have more "old neighborhoods", but I don't know.
West of I-35, is the Hill Country, which will cost more for the size than anything East of 35
West - cell and internet can be spotty. East - you can get phone almost everywhere, internet is spotty.
You can find more "deals" East, I am pretty certain.
@SCOTT'S TACO LOCO knows the area East/SE of SA pretty well.
In or near smaller towns that aren't suburbs can be pretty nice. Lockhart is about right for us, since I can't afford a Hill Country ranch!

 

If you think of the city like a clock, from 9pm to 3pm, going clockwise, stupid traffuck mornings and evenings.

Wherever in the SA region you decide to move I wish you the best of luck. Rents in SA have gone up a bunch. I'm not looking at rentals but one of my cousins told me they were looking. I'm currently zero for 4 on offers that I've made on houses. Three of the offers were on houses outside 1604 in the westside of the city and one was in town near Grissom and Timberhill. All of my offers have been for over asking with me paying my own closing costs and paying for the survey if necessary. I agreed to a 60 day leaseback on one and even offered to pay for the title policy on two of them. Said I'd cover appraisal gap on the most recent offer which was on 6/20. I was one of over 30 offers that were made for house in a subdivision off of Potranco and Talley.

I'm looking at the under $250k houses and am preapproved through my credit union and trying to use a VA loan. I might have to switch it up and to a conventional or go new construction but I was trying not to do that.

Most are going quick with showings starting on a Friday and the offer windows closing on Sunday.

If we came out there I’d buy, probably east somewhere hopefully to help in avoiding so much competition. Who knows if that would work though.

It's a early 90s Suzuki SUV since they're over 25 years old they can be imported to United States now

no, much more like the Suzuki. Did NOT have the big S though. New paper plates, and it looked brand new, not used. @Lucario Runner called it a Kei car....
