    GET IT!

I bought my M12 Fuel Ratchet shortly after the impact, and even though I prefer M18 tools, I still like checking out the M12 selection.

That picture I posted? You'll see the inverter I use; sure it doesn't put out enough current to run a heater or something, but I used it to charge my walkie talkie battery (cradle uses standard plug) when I forgot the car plug.

When it comes to ads whether on craigslist or something, at one point or another you'll have to use your phone number or email (unless you go with an alt email and google voice number).

You'll find way more information about someone using that info that you would with someone's license plate.

    Shameless license plate plug -

Why do I like vehicles with twisted electrical systems? Does anybody have a Triumph TR6 for sale?

    QUESTION:

The button lights and LEDs went out on my 99 model LX470 HVAC control panel. All of the button functionality still works -- just no lights or LEDs. It doesn't matter whether the headlights are on or off.

So I figured it was the control panel that went out and bought a Land Cruiser three-knob center control unit for $500. I just installed the Land Cruiser unit and no button lights or LED clock. The knobs and buttons work just like the old LX470 unit but no lights. There must be a fuse or something "unlabeled" that provides power to the lights and clock LED on a separate circuit.

I will greatly appreciate any help.

    SOLUTION:

The CIG Lighter 15a fuse in the cowl box was blown. However, the 12v power supply plug (the one on the right) continued to work. The fusible link on the official CIGAR lighter had been blown before I bought the vehicle. Apparently, in trying to swap out the old blown cigar lighter for a QC 3.0 adapter, I blew out the 15a CIG Lighter fuse. That 15a fuse took out the lights on the HVAC control unit. Other 12v cigar-looking receptacles in the vehicles all work in spite of the blown fuse.

I'm sure nothing is wrong with my old HVAC unit controls and lights. I'll plug it in to make sure. I guess it doesn't hurt to have a spare set of HVAC controls.

I've seen this kind of twisted weirdness before on Nissan Maximas from the same period where a fuse for the electric radio antenna controls the circuit to the OBDII plug.

Maybe I have a subconscious thing for 90s Japanese vehicles with twisted electrical systems.

Now if the radio works after this, I don't know whether to be happy or sad.

That is weird. Nice to have figured it out, even though you had to jump through some hoops.
I want my non functional lower dash lights (where the Cruise light is) to have some oddball / semi easy solution like a fuse...don't feel like tearing the dash apart.

I was thinking I'd buy a set before snow hits again but I can kick that decision down the road. I got a deal on a set of wheels with some Sumitomo Open Country AT on them

I highly recommend them. Been an excellent tire on and off road. Dirt, rocks, whatever. They have been great. Rain too, although I've seen very little with them so far but my daughter has seen more.
