Hey Wayz, random old man neural firing. I almost forgot how Kristi ended up in the first 2014 gas Highlander...I was trying (as in I really wanted) to put her in a 4Runner. But I screwed up and let her look at the Highlander, which she preferred because of the more sloped hood and car-like feel from the driver's seat (she's short at 5'2"). She also preferred the spacious cabin over the smaller 4Runner cabin. We never looked at the Honda Pilot, in hindsight, once she decided on the CUV style of vehicle, we should have looked at a Pilot. To close out the story, she wanted the Hybrid in 2014, but I wasn't smart-on and had no confidence in the Hybrid technology back then. So she ended up in the gas version. In 2019, when I came to my senses and dumped the POS Ram for another Tacoma after only 3 yrs in the Ram, she fought to get her Hybrid; I did my research on the Hybrid, and couldn't find a reason to not let her get it. So that's how it went.
Bottom Line: Have your wife drive a 4Runner, I had a 2021 loaner 4Runner from the dealer two weeks ago ... it's an awesome rig IMHO. If you can sell her on a 4Runner, you'll be my HERO and have my FOREVER RESPECT.
... and you'll have succeeded were this old mooseman failed.
