Intake Volume & Exhaust Volume codes

Hey there I recently had my engine rebuilt through Toyota and supplied them with LCE .030 over pistons, pro dual Valve Spring & Retainer Kit, URD Cam Gears & a few other parts for the build.

Everything is done now and I have a Intake & Exhaust Volume code.

I know that I can get the URD engine management system but was wondering what other programmers are available if any to get rid of the engine light.

Did they mill the heads?
If so, did you add back the amount milled to the head gaskets?

Appreciate the quick responses. I am not sure if they milled the head & I will try and get it scanned this weekend. I was only told what the codes meant. I would think it is directly related to the larger pistons and URD Cam Gears though?

 

wait... you supplied them aftermarket oversized pistons? Did they bore the cylinders properly?

 

I’m surprised the dealer would even use your aftermarket parts.

 

Maybe the map sensor got left unplugged?

 

Find some sort of simple scan tool, and get the codes.

I have a highly over-bored and built engine, and it runs just fine without any codes. With the OEM tune.

 

I will see if I can get a scan tool tomorrow.

yes I supplied them the parts and the engine out of the truck. they subbed it out to their engine guy for the machine work and assembly then they installed it. I even got 12 month unlimited km warranty.

 

Are you running the Cam Gears though? They slightly adjust the timing.

 

Negative. Those will only create an issue if they are off a tooth or so.

 

Any cam gear will create an issue if it’s off a tooth lol. The URD ones are suppose to modify the timing slightly.

 

Correct. I only said it like that because it it happens frequently enough during install. So it could be a cause.

Once you have the codes, it will offer us better insight.
