I’d been postponing this, but wimped out on the install. Glad I did because @Speed Freek killed it in around 2 hours, even with the chit chat, because if I hadn’t stuck around he probably would’ve knocked it off faster :D

    Hangers + poly bushings…

    Thanks!
Haha, chatting does add some extra time. I have done probably 40+ of the hammer hangars so I can do them pretty quickly since I know what it takes to get those darn rivets out! They dont just fall out that's for sure..
But yeah these hangars really help the spring articulate better especially used in conjunction with the shackles since the new bushing isnt vulcanized to the shell and uses poly that can rotate allowing it to move without binding like the stock ones.
And when used in conjunction with the relocation (I have done well over 50 of those) the rear wheel travel is hugely improved!
The big change in having the hangars, plus the relocation with leafs and shocks you can barely feel the truck when you drive it off of small dropoffs since the travel drops out much further than stock and keeps the rear end planted pretty much ALL the time.

IMO this is one of the best mods out there for the rear of the truck, once you go for a ride in one you're going to NEED one, haha.

If anyone needs install of them in the SoCal (Im in North County San Diego area) I can help you out, check my link below for install pics of quite a few I have in my thread and I have quite a few of them for members in SoCal.

Holy shit, 40? I thought I had some solid numbers since I’ve done about 8 of these. You’re right though, once you get a system down, it’s not too bad of a job.

Haha, totally agree. I have been doing Tacoma work (installs, welding, etc) since about 2012 full time so I do a LOT of work on these trucks. But yes like you said the first one takes quite a while but once you do a couple its not too bad, the hardest part is grinding all the old mounts off IMO.
I've done a couple with spring flip kits and 14" Kings so there are a few variants as far as setups but I can almost do them in my sleep now.

Can add that All Dogs OffRoad Performance leaf pack fits the shackles just fine.
Waiting on my rear shocks for relocation. Very limited travel, heh.

Are you sure, because I had 2 customers say the spring bushings were narrow by a lot. Hopefully they started using correct width bushings.

@snowsk8air2 Put them in for me. Didnt mention any issues.
Need me to take any pics? Have the truck back for a day before it goes back to him.
I have had their leaf pack for a long time now. If there was any production changes in bushings used.

Yes please, correct bushing width is 2.875" if you feel like measuring

Bushings were a tad narrow but the hangers and shackles flexed in to tighten. Weren’t so narrow that it was alarming and everything moved freely still

edit: gap from your shackle to the leaf spring bushing was no more than the gap from your shackle to shackle hanger. And they used an oem style bushing, not a typical replaceable poly one so even a little bit of “pinch” isn’t going to make a difference. But I’ll try to remember to measure the leafs when he gets me the truck back

Any tips on getting the lower rivets out? Top two popped right out. I would drill it out but the pilot hole i drilled is off center haha. Any harm in just welding it in and bolting the top two? Plug weld and maybe stitch the front and rear?

Ball joint press and a bolt to push them out. After you grind the head off it of course

I used an air hammer on the top ones that same way, but the bottom won’t budge. I’ll keep at it, but might end up just welding it on. I’m not trying to fight it all day.

The lower ones have a welded washer on the back side that make them a lot harder than the side ones

I’m saying grind the head off and then use a ball joint press and a bolt to press out the remaining rivet. No air hammer involved. The press will pop it out with no issue. Skip to 9:40.

If you hammer on the lower ones too much you’ll just bend the frame up.

It’s incredibly easy, I’ve done it many times and tried a few different ways. This is by far the fastest.

I have a few ideas, but before I go and reinvent the wheel- what is everyone doing to mount the resi after a relocate? I see them on the frame and just assume a couple holes have been drilled to fit the clamp.
