Congrats! You're lucky to get it so quickly after it was built. Mine was built on 5/31 and looks like I won't get it until sometime in July.

 

I think the dealer was pulling strings to get it sooner because they were being sold to Lithia this weekend. Last minute sales before the change. I didn’t mind

 

Got an estimated delivery date today!!

 

We ordered our truck June 1st - got the call today that it will be at the dealer the first week of Sept

 

Update picked up my new truck yesterday and really love it. Drove 128 km from the dealer to home and was surprised how comfortable the seat is also smooth ride on the highways with minimal sound coming inside the cab. I am really impressed with my new Tacoma. Ordering the Xtang 2.0 soft tonneau cover and 5" oval stainless steel side steps.

Do you know your build date?

 

I was told last week of May sometime but forgot exact date.

Mine has a build date of July 20th and I was told to expect it last week of August at the earliest. Who knows how that’ll turn out.

 

I used the Toyota discount. I ordered mine on April 22nd and have yet to hear anything. I ordered dcsb trd off road in army green with LED headlights, the tech package, tonneau cover and black side steps. They said it would be 8 to 12 weeks. We are on week 9, it’s such a hard wait. I’m not giving up because I got such a great deal with the discount.

 

If you ask, the dealer should be able to give you the expected build date and a temporary VIN that stays active until it’s built.

 

Has anyone heard if cement is definitely being discontinued this year?

Cement will be discontinued. Lunar Rock will be available on the rest of the trims. Blue Crush is new for 2022 but I'm not 100% what trims it is available on.

If it's true, this SUCKS. I just ordered a cement Tacoma and the dealership told me it would most likely have to be switched to a 2022 model when new prices are made official in July. I missed quicksand by 2 years and now cement.

Blue crush is basically navy blue currently offered on corollas. Looks boring to me.

Lunar Rock is ok, but it's not as timeless as cement and I'm afraid I will get tired of the green tint after a few years.

Sucks to order, wait and to pay $40 000 for a truck and not even getting the color you like. I might reconsider.

 

Mine is a story of luck...I "placed my order" with a $1000 non-refundable deposit for a 2021 Cement TRD OR w/ Premium Package from a dealer in the GST region on 4/25. Salesman told me it would be around a 60-90 day turnaround time. At the time ordering, I was exactly what my username suggests, a Tacoma noob. This means I was completely unaware of the dealer allocation process, availability of Tacos for this year and this forum. After about a month of placing my order and no dealership updates, I started spending some time looking at what folks had been saying about the GST region (not many good things) and learned about the allocation process.

I did call the salesman a few times and after repeatedly being told "sorry, your update hasn't been accepted yet by Toyota", my lack of patience got the best of me. What this really meant was that they hadn't been allocated a Tacoma to their dealership yet and they hadn't had luck of finding one in another dealer that they could trade. At this point I started getting the feeling that I was not going to have any success with this dealership and started looking at Cars.com to see if there were any other Tacos out there with the specs I wanted from outside the region.

And there it was, a 2021 Cement TRD OR w/ Premium Package showed up in a dealership in Nebraska (Kansas City region). Called the dealership and was told that Tacoma was promised to their dealership and that it was currently in production (I was given a temp. VIN). I decided to place another non-refundable $1000 deposit to secure this truck, thinking that I could call dealer #1 in GST and MAYBE get my deposit back. I was mentally prepared to lose the money. Most will say this was a financially irresponsible decision from my end, and I would agree.

Well, to wrap up, this is the schedule for the Tacoma in Nebraska:

Order Date: May (not sure specific day)
Scheduled Built Date: 06/15
Actual Build Date: 06/22 (temp. VIN stopped working)
Delivery Date estimate: 07/12 - 07/19

Here comes the good part. So the GST dealership called me a few days ago, saying that the order had not yet been accepted and that it was very unlikely at this point for them to have any other allocations for this year with my specs. Thus, I would either 1) need to be flexible and get another color for 2021 or 2) transform my order for a 2022 but still not get the color I wanted since apparently there will be no Cement for 2022 or 3) get my refund back. I tried to act disappointed and told him to get me my refund back. After a few minutes, I received it!

I guess it all worked out at the end and I am beyond excited to grab a flight to Nebraska and drive the truck back to Texas. I will keep you all posted and upload some pictures when I pick it up.
