Cole helped put this broke board back. Hopefully I can paint the black soon.

The General is in survivor condition, has its scrapes and scuffs but that's fine. The Schwinn was a project as you can tell, some dimwit used light blue house paint on it and then black spray paint. Too far gone to save so I sent it out for powdercoating on frame and fork. I did the small parts resto over the winter.

I had a Mongoose Supergoose in about 1981 when I raced. That was my first real bike that I had. I still have all my Star Wars stuff from my childhood and that's not goin anywhere.

My nephew wants my Star Wars stuff, ain't gonna happen.

Not surprised, the market is pretty hectic now and finding the parts is a chore so a complete like you have there is very desirable.

I did about a 6 hour round trip for another one of mine, I'll look for a picture but it's an old Torker.

I love the old BMX bikes. The new ones just can't compare to the old PK Ripper, Redline, Mongoose (before they sold out to Walmart and Target), GT, etc.

I bought the Super Stock 1 off of a friend so he could finish paying for his Hoffman Taj.

I wouldn't even know where to start with pricing on the Schwinn.

    20210626_121904.jpg

I haven't had it down in ages so I'm not sure how true the rims are. Everything is stock except for the valve stem covers (bullets wrapped with gold chrome to match :p), the pegs on the back and, because I worked at a decal shop at the time, I made a decal of my friend's signature that he put on it before I bought it. His last name is Hoffman so we told people he was related to Mat and this was a signature bike.

Poll: Surely that is a rhetorical question?

The little Homelite Super 2 chainsaw I got running this week had sat on a shelf for 25 years...

I guess it could be, I know some things we hang onto because they belonged to someone we knew or loved. Some things we don’t get rid of because we don’t like to get rid of stuff.

My dad saves everything, he says it comes from growing up poor.

I was taking the humourous side of it, seriously I have a lot of stuff. :anonymous:

And yes, it does come from growing up poor, we didn't have much.

My mom grew up during the depression - I read once " the depression left a scar" on the people who lived through it.

Saving, being conservative, taking care of what you have - is hard written into my DNA I think. :notsure:

Then there is my passion for things that leak oil on the garage floor...

I have a lot of stuff too now that I think about it. Some of it I wouldn’t get rid of for sentimental reasons. A lot of it I should get rid of it.

The oil leak comment, Cole was riding his old John Deere 110 the other day and my wife ask me if it’s supposed to smoke. I said yes, when it quits smoking I know it needs more oil :D

Dunno, was at a swap meet sale, looks like a hit and miss powered engine?

Oh I thought it was yours. Yes it does look like a hit and miss engine. I’m assuming that’s a generator hooked to it?

I mowed with an old Ford (Jacobsen) garden tractor for years, got to the point I would have to stop and add oil mid mow. Kohler K Series power like Cole's JD.
Never missed a beat mowing but blew clouds of smoke proportional to how hard it was working.

Scout fishing trip this morning, I think I was the only catch of the day. Caught a 2nd one that felt larger than this but the drag on my reel was apparently seized up and it straightened the hook!
I volunteered my design skills and need to design and build a 24 pole holder/cart. One that lays horizontally since the current one is vertical and the rods fold over and tangle when stored in the enclosed trailer. Ive already got it figured out in my head, just need to get it digital!
Been poking in here and again, happy belated birthday to @wilcam47 and @My Name is Rahl
Hope the housewarming is going great! Congrats!
Been busy with the new roof stuff and refinancing. Switched up the terms of my financing from 15 to 10 year and will just power through it at 2.625% Git er done!!!:D
