LOL. I noticed that when I look at local inventory on Toyota.com and look at the Tacoma's listed and what the add-ons are, that most have cheap add-ons with huge mark-ups. Things like the Blackout package and mini-bed tie downs. A few weeks ago I looked and literally of the 20 tacomas listed, 19 had blackout package.

So not only are people paying full MSRP, but Toyota is nickel and diming by throwing tons of options on because people don't have a choice.

I got mine 6 weeks ago. It had the 3-4 add-ons that I wanted. BUT, it came with about 4-5 others that I did not want. But I was not going to turn it down after waiting so long.

Interesting point, I was working with a dealer in Charlotte, NC and they seemed to have quite a few Tacomas in transit with the XP Predator Package.

    Mostly dust and dirt.
In my area every dealership regardless of brand is way down on inventory. Except for Honda and Volkswagen.

The USA gotta get off their greedy cheap asses and make the dam computer chips in the US….we’re supposedly the “superpower” but we’re always importing half the crap we need….IMO

We're out of Tacos here in Santa Cruz, too. Dealer is asking for a $500 deposit then marking up 10k over MSRP when stuff arrives.

Kinda ironic thing to say as we're buying Japanese trucks....

    Mine was in Baja (Mexico)

But by your logic I suppose they should all be built in Japan, and you should be buying Detroit...

4Runner still built in Japan. Actually my local dealer has 1 TRD pro Tacoma and 1 TRD off road 4Runner and stock. I’m kinda surprised

Here is where the largest Toyota dealership in Souther California used to be. Nature has reclaimed its land. :notsure:

According to their website, most are “in transit” from Texas and Mexico.

China still doesn't have Covid under control. They have a shortage of workers for the factories and their biggest marine terminal is down to 40% capacity.

I didn't even notice that... I went back and checked and it looks like 17 of them are at the lot and the rest are "in transit". Inventory just bumped up to 31..

I stop by Toyota dealer next to my house this morning for service. The lot has about 25-30 cars. Most of it were rav4, a few venza, 1-2 Highlander, a few Camry. There were no tundra, Tacoma, 4runner, or Sequoia.
