With this kit, does the tailgate also lock/unlock when you use any of the interior door lock switches?

Bummer, that's a theft security issue when living in city environments. I like having the tailgate lock separate from the door lock so that if someone smashes my window, they still can't easily get into the locked truck bed (I have a hard tonneau cover). I would like the convenience of the remote tailgate lock, though. I wonder if there is way to disable the door lock switch from activating the the tailgate actuator.

I put one in my 2017 last weekend. No issues, and a simple install. Enjoy.

You could install a hidden disconnect switch in the tailgate circuit.

I just installed on my 2017 Tacoma TRD. Took about 2.5 hrs. I highly recommend it as now my tailgate locks and unlocks with my doors. Something that should have been standard.
The instructions from Toyota are pretty bad. The pictures are printed with a potato and they dont say the correct orientation for the lock cable and the camera cable between the tailgate and the body. Just had to figure that out.
It is not difficult, but takes a while. The hardest part is trying to squeeze the cable under the carpet and out the hole under the seat.

I bought the Toyota tailgate actuator kit on Amazon for $152. It has everything in the kit except a tube of sealant and a tube of grease.
You need a T30 torx and 10mm socket. The trim just pops off.
I did use a set of shears to cut the excess off the metal zip ties.
I used some RTV silicone for the clip and just some regular grease on the actuator.
I did put some Locktite blue (removable) on the bolt that holds down the actuator as I did not want it to ever come loose.

Sorry for dusting off a slightly older post, but I've been using the search function to find an answer on the tail gate lock for a Double Cab Long Bed. I see folks linking to the DCSB, and ACLB option (PK3B6-35JS0) but when I tried to purchase what I thought was the DCLB model (PK3B6-35JL0), the Toyota dealer near by indicates "Your cart includes products that fit another vehicle". I used my vin as validator of applicability of said part number, so I'm a little confused now. There is no misunderstanding about what model I have. Just confused as to whether there is a newer part number for the tail gate locking mechanism.

    TIA.

If your truck is a long bed, then the part number you listed is correct.
