Ok I know it’s only a 4 banger. But come on !!!!!! 2020 2.7 had for almost a year. Can’t stand the lagging and lack of power (gasping) when just driving around the neighborhood. Ar 35mph it acts like it’s going up a hill or something. Just normal in town driving sucks! Dose anyone else have this issue!!!!!!!

I have a V6 but I test drove it for a long time. Knew exactly what I was getting.

My buddies 2.7 in his 1st gen regular cab MT was a beast. I drove a 2016 auto before I got my 3rd gen and it was a slug. Even the 3.5 engine option is lethargic and the gearing and transmission only amplify the effect

think about how much less effort you'll need to exert when you replace the spark plugs on the 4 banger vs the V6, you'll feel better

Well Jalopnik lambasted the shit out of the 2.7 back in 2016 or 2017. The last truck it made sense in was the RC 2nd gen, but pesky Americans always need more room so the RC was nixed.

I had 3rd gen 4banger for 2 years in south Florida and it wasn’t bad… I actually drove that thing faster than my actual v6 MT…

I have a 2010 2.7L with the 5 speed manual in a regular cab. I honestly don't have many complaints about power and I've owned and driven fast cars. However, this isn't a fast truck. It's good for driving to and from work and slow offroading! I think that you have high expectations for a 2.7L in a 4,000 lbs truck.

OP has an Auto Transmission. (If anyone missed this information)

    OP, you have 4 options.

    Sell the truck
    Live with it
    Gear it
Or go with some type of forced induction.

The Automatic Transmission isn’t helping things. I’d go with a set of gears. Forced induction will definitely be harder in the Transmission if you actually beat on the truck.

No complaints about my 2.7 5 spd. Loaded down lots of times and also towed heavy trailers over hilly terrain. Torquey for a 4 cylinder engine and mine even has the 3.15 rear end.

Some people have tried that approach with people they've married, it works up until you getting a drinking problem and end up beating on it.

The good news is The used Truck market for Tacomas has reached insane heights. Not sure this also applies to the 4 banger, but if you really hate it, might get more than you think if you sell it.

If OP’s ACLB is a pig.

Oh god they make those? Those monsters.

Its probably small consolation that it still has a better power to weight ratio than a freight train.

    Well, I looked it up.
The ACLB is HEAVIER than the DCLB?
    How?

    And what is @33% options?
How much do these things really weigh?
