TSMC is building at least one fab in Phoenix but it won’t be up for a couple of years. Intel is probably going to expand their production in Phoenix, too.

My local Toyota has a full lot of new Toyotas. Tacomas, Camry, Corolla…. Although I did buy an “In Transit” TRD Sport Predator for $900 under sticker, no add ons there were 4 other Tacomas on the lot. And 5 used Tacomas. I guess it depends on where you live.

There was one new tacoma on the lot here. A 2021 DCSB V6 4x4 Plain Jane SR that stickered for 34k. No mark up. They had two used Tacomas and two used Tundras. The lot was basically a used car lot.

You cant because they arent there. Lots of people have no clue that dealer websites are not close to accurate.

I was perusing the Tacoma’s on Carvana just a short while ago. There are plenty there to be had but the prices for used Tacos are unbelievable!

It’s funny when I told my co-worker about how difficult it was to find a new 2021 Tacoma on a lot, every time we pass a Toyota dealership since he’s been straining his head pointing out any Tacomas he can see to prove I was exaggerating

Last one we passed last week he starts to say “see there’s a Tacoma right there. Wait, never mind that’s a 4Runner. Couldn’t see it that well. Hmmm” and then he just trails off because he can’t find a single one to point out. Lol

I heard about the $10k markup out west. A local salesman said he sold a Tacoma to someone out west because the dealer here (NC) is only charging a $2,500 markup. The purchaser is flying in to take delivery and drive back across country.

I can't imagine flying to pick up a truck and still paying over MSRP.

Dealers suck for charging these prices but it's, unfortunately, the customers that are still willing to pay it.

I just traded in my 2021 TRDOR to a dealer that paid me $4k over what I paid for it new. Only had 10,000 miles on it.

Did you get $4k over everything you added to it or just over what you paid for it?

    Exactly.

As the US is feeling confident and most everyone who wants to be vaccinated is, the rest of the world, including the places "we" use for their cheap labor and lax environmental codes, are still dealing harshly with COVID. Every step of the way from raw materials through manufacturing to shipping, everything is behind.

We, as a world very interconnected, are a long way away from being "past" this pandemic as of yet. Be grateful for what we have, the rest will take time.

I drive past a Ford dealership most days of the week and the lot has been very sparely-populated recently. I have been hoping to test-drive one of the 7.3 gas V8 F-250s, but I don't think they even have any trucks out aside from a couple of F-150s and a Ranger.
