4.0 exhaust leak, lifters, or normal taco tick?

    Looked all over about Tacoma ticks but mine seems like a header leak. Owned a hemi before this and its header leak sounded the same. Let me know if this is what they all sound like so I can stop worrying myself.

    Mine ticks like that. I have Doug Thorley headers though, no leaks, no cracks.

    The single VVT-i 4.0 is just a clattery engine, close tolerances, high precision, exact timings, all running on old school bucket shim valves. No fancy smooth sewing machine roller bearing lifters on these bad boys, they cams they slap.

    This and the 6 cylinder has no lifters.

    6 cylinder Jags used a very similar setup for decades it's nothing new and it works very well.

    ill add that mine sounds basically the same.. i swore i had an exhaust leak or something... it even gets louder sometimes.. its just weird.. So, i put on headers.. new gaskets. and it still does it.. no change.. so i dont know
