I just noticed that the bushing in that picture doesn't have the metal sleeve in the center. Did you remove it already?

Maybe I’ll take them off and take them to a shop to have pressed out

I also tried that. The shop took some gouges out of my arms that bothered me enough that I got new (used) arms and re-did the work myself. You'll probably have better luck than I did... It's a good way to go if you're using OEM bushings.

If you're using OEM-style aftermarket (like Moog), take a look at just buying new arms with bushings already installed. It might be cheaper than having a shop press them.

EDIT: The shops I called estimated $60-80 to press the bushings, but reserved the right to charge more if they put up a fight.

 

I’m thinking a torch is probably the way to go, just leave the shell in there

 

What new bushings did you get? Sorry if you said already... I didn't see anywhere.

Ah, for ES, you should ignore most of what I said. Torching out and leaving the shell is 100% the way to go.

I was hoping to have enough spares to shim the new engine but I think I'll have to order a few. The motorcycle shop wants $13 ea

I have some swapping and checking to do but if the stars align on paper I will only need a singular 2.40mm shim

 

Oh. Nevermind. KLR shims are 29mm
