Any painters out there? I’m looking for some advice. The samples that went on the wall didn’t get brushed in good enough so you can see them through the paint and it’s slightly raised. What’s the best way to fix this? 6E18201A-8865-40C2-A8D7-859829478BE7.jpg

Installed the Stainless Steel Cable/Railing today on a small deck/porch that I built a couple weeks ago. Routed a groove in top rail support and post tops to run the 12v cable for the LED lights.

I encountered this yesterday after a couple (minor sags) FRANKLY I think it's total bullshit the GFCI's don't restore with power restore, and zero faults. I have two like this, one in the garage and one in the shop. Naturally a fridge and freezer are on the garage circuit. Thank goodness my wife asked me "why is the power still out to the fridge?"

I will soon replace both. Total disaster if we were away from home. Side of beef, pounds of fish, berries out the kazzoo......

try some a different brand gfi. i know i've seen this with legrand devices, but thought they changed in the last few years. leviton gfi's don't do that last i checked.

but all of them are self-check now to meet newest electrical code.

Oh, I installed a trail cam in my back yard after my gate to the creek got destroyed. Only thing I caught was the neighbors cat. So far.

Not quite. I estimated (prior to build) materials at $1685 (excluding LED lighting material). Actuals came in at $1733.

It wasn't too bad. It was my first time. Bought all the components on Amazon. Local building supply stores didn't have much in stock. Key is to set post heights so you get the equal spacing. I went with 35" from top of decking to underside of the horizontal 2x4 for 9 rows of 3.5", 4" is code. Bought a jig that allowed drilling at a 45 on the corner post. Much cleaner than 2 posts. Had all the parts in plastic containers for easy reference/picking.

    thats a nice install

on my last client job I did a cable rail system but with 2" predrilled stainless posts and a wood cap . Having the predrilled posts sure was nice , we bought all components through Bezdan online

Thanks. Here's a few more pics. There are no visible fasteners/hardware. One end (non house end posts) was crimped with a button head fitting and the other (house posts) used a hidden, threaded/tightening fitting that the cable slid through with a crimped fitting and all covered by an adhesive backed washer/grommet piece. Needed a special tool that slid over cable to thread the fitting/tighten the cable. All through holes were 1/4" and the threaded fitting holes were 10mm. Used sleeve protectors on all through holes, including special 45 degree ones for the corner. Made for a very clean look/install. Ignore the lines, they were from a previous markup. I made template with a piece of 1/4" x 3 1/2" poplar for all of the hole marks.

Decent ones have come down in price. Vs the crappy walmart ones. Rumor was the previous owner/builder took all the good ceiling fans and put some junky ones in...:annoyed::facepalm:at our current place.
