Thanks for all the helpful info. I was able to use this thread and one other to verify all the parts needed to swap my 08 over to the 12+. Super excited about the results! Changed the whole look of the truck. Added new wheels and tires, then built a winch bumper to go with it. Can’t thank this community enough for all the info!

Congrats man, that's a good look right there! I'd like to get a metal winch insert for my front bumper as my next mod.

Does anyone here know the thread for this photo or know how they mounted the 2.5 gen bumper without a full redo? As is what brackets would I actually need for just the bumper and if it only takes trimming up the bumper?

I've never seen that before, it looks like a 12-15 oem bumper heavily modified on the top to fit the grille/headlight lines of the 05-11.

Do you think a aftermarket hybrid bumper form my 06 would fit if I do the 12-15 conversion? I’m contemplating this.

New here but this is exactly what I've been trying to figure out. I want the gen "2.5" bumper on my 08 to accommodate a low profile winch but don't care a ton about updating the lights and hood. Have you found anymore info on this?

Yup I actually ended up doing this myself here's the thread I made https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2nd-gen-front-bumper-swap-to-2-5-gen.722992/page-2#post-25950419
Ask more questions if you have them on there so I don't hijack this thread

So just to clarify, the painted part that you are pointing to came with the $99 ebay grill that you referenced, then you swapped in the TRD pro grill:

    Thanks

I think I'm going to attempt the conversion for like the third time, does anybody know if this list is still complete and accurate?

It is still a relevant list of items you need. Some items are out of stock or more expensive because of shortages. I’ll be updating it later today hopefully finding items that are not out of stock.

What about the actual headlights filler? Amd if we find a crash bar with the brackets already attached, we can eliminate those four pieces, correct?

Yes it's probably work fine, I have a 05-11 ARB on my 2.5 front end swap

That is the reinforcement you’ll need. You’ll also need everything else pictured in that link. If they don’t restock soon I’m going to list the parts in separate links.

Ohhhh, that makes much more sense now. I thought they were a few items missing, so everything comes in this package? Do you happen to know the part number for that race bar that goes across the bottom? And what are the two triangular pieces?

All the part numbers and part descriptions should be listed in that eBay link.
