Im ditching the old switch for a smaller one to get some clutter off the bars. Putting on a momentary push button that’s smaller to flip between high and low beams. Only one gets power at a time with the headlight Im using (ETA: that may not be true, but at least only one is illuminated). Everything is all wired up and ready to go I just need the relay. It is a double pole (double throw?). I know that Drag Specialties one off of Dennis Kirk will work I’d just rather save $30 (I’m cheap) if there’s another alternative. I’m wondering if the difference in the way the terminals are labeled (56 vs 85, etc.) means anything.

@BTHawk got the Valley Tune in. There's step by step under resources on OV's site. Can't really comment on the tune yet. Charging voltage is higher so AGM batteries are getting what they need. And tip in is pretty strong. I've got a road trip on Tuesday. Will hopefully know more by then.

Thought so. I caught it out of the corner of my eye. Come to think of it… the one I saw may have been silver (sun glare off it). Wasn’t sure if you derp’d your wheels or anything.

Did you go with standard or light? My cable doesn't get to me until Thursday this week, so I am doing the tune over the 4th of July weekend. I was going to go with standard initially. Hopefully the tip-in is less than what the kdmax one was...

Honestly, buy the DK relay. Looking at that diagram again it appears the splice and all is interior to the relay so that and the pin layout are totally proprietary and something you'll never find in a standard relay. That also means the two should actually both be on with the high beams with how the DK relay is designed. I would use a voltmeter and check for voltage at both headlight pins when you have the relay energized.

Otherwise if you want to simplify with a standard ISO relay and the two really aren't on together, I can talk you through how to rewire it. It would actually be very straightforward if the two lights really aren't on together.

I appreciate that! Let me get it wired up to the old switch without the relay and see how it lights up.

changed rear pads on the 4runner this weekend and noticed they had Toyota logos on them. Last time this 4runner was at a dealer for maintenance was 108k miles, so at 230k now, that means we got a good 120k out of these lol

Pretty much sucked all possibly life out of these. Still hadn't burned through the whole pad and rotor was in good shape

Glad I stumbled on this. Was thinking about pulling the trigger on the Mt Baker. I like that it doesn’t swing out to the side and looks legit for the price. What’s your review? Cheap for a reason?

WTF Dave?!?!?! I thought it was bad loosing a one lug and 4 of the other 5 only having a few, at best, threads left on the lugs...you've set the bar and I'll never hope to best it!

It would appear to be a wise investment!:anonymous: But I've also seen this bad larry on some tool you tube channels...

Damn these incidents, glad you're ok!

I think they sold me the last run of a poorly designed abs shell. The new ones have a different shell. From what I can tell water was collecting in the four troughs and either magnifiying and melting or freezing and cracking the abs. If the new design holds water anywhere I wouldn't buy it. It also faded horribly. before I painted it I pulled the CVT sticker off in the bottom photo

Yup I just looked at CVTs website. The Mt Baker that is on it now is totally different. They knew they sold me a piece of shit ...... The shell, the sides, and the frame is totally redesigned.

Pro tip, clean your radiator fins lol

Fronts weren't hung up like I thought. They did stick the pads to the rotors pretty good when I left it after not finishing my suspension, so I assumed pistons got stuck or something and that was stressing drivetrain. Turns out it was just a metric ton of mud lol.

When I accidentally drilled a hole in my radiator and had to replace it, I was astounded at how dirty the old one was. I was also impressed how much cooler my truck ran after putting the new one in. A solid 20° cooler, unsurprisingly.

Seems between the condenser and the front of the radiator is a good place for junk to hide. Radiator wasn't that dirty when I replaced the condenser in may, so I guess sleepy creek really did it in
