Ok, so I don't really go off road and while I my truck may occasionally haul my husband's 21' boat it's not a common thing. My truck is my daily driver. But, lately I've been feeling like I wish I'd gotten 4x4 instead of 4x2. Anyone feel the same? I don't really know why, just feel like I spent all that $$ and should have gotten the 4x4.

Anyone want to console me? I'm sitting here at home for the 2nd day (snow and ice storm) and bored. :)

No regrets for me. However since hanging out in the garage I might want to pick up a 1gen 4X4 as a sport vehicle. This would be a second vehicle.

You need to start posting over in the 5 lug forum every now and then. Show off your Tacoma a little. The TM is a very understated vibrant color.

On a more serious vein (sort of...) Psychoanalysts could have a field day with americans and their cars.

Who really needs that 400hp (or is it 500hp?) of the new mustang?

Who really needs a top speed of 150mph or a 1/4 mile of 12 sec?

Who really needs a 12,000 lb towing capacity?

And yet, all these things sell. Because if some is good, more is better. You regret that you don't have more than you need. Ah, what a wonderful place to be. A good opportunity for thankfulness, no?

If you're gonna get a 2x4, might as well get a Prius!

I always had 2 wheel drive GM trucks in the past. I felt like it was time try it with the new Taco. Plus the 4x4 height is what I love about Tacoma's. I live in the north east and it has been snowing like crazy this year. With the 4x2's, if there was no weight in bed you were not going anywhere.

    Well...

But I agree Moose. People in this country are way too focused on keeping up with the Joneses.

I live in Texas and it doesn't really snow here. As a matter of fact I just saw snow for the first time in real life last year and it was only about an inch. I'm dead serious. Therefore a 4x4 wouldn't benefit fit so I didn't look for one. I don't need a 4x4 to reinforce my manhood, my large penis size speaks for that.

Kinda, it doesn't snow here so im fine there. When i got my truck they never had 4x4s at the dealership, i waited and waited. I wish i built my taco online, but whatever now. I still have my old truck which is a 4x4 F150 so i still got one and i don't like the idea of wheeling a 26k truck with the stuff we got here in Louisiana.

Yesterday was the first time since I bought my Taco that I wished I had 4 wheel drive. We got about 3.5" of snow and I didn't want to risk getting my prerunner out in it.

When it snowed here I wish I had it.
But I had a 4X4 Jeep TJ and I used it 3 times in 4 years and it was just for fun.
I have been impressed with my PreRunner.

I dont think I would have ever considered buying a 4x2 truck or SUV. I guess it is where I live and what I do though.

I love my 4x2 but if i were to do it over again i would have gotten the 4x4 just for the off roading purpose and more versitility.
