Keystone State Thread

So, anybody with tractor knowledge, I just saw a sale ad for a John Deere 790 right down the road from me and I’m thinking of looking at it. But I don’t know what I’m looking at when it comes to tractors. Obviously look for leaks, abrasion on the hydraulic lines, etc. but what else? And can anyone explain to me how the unsynchronized 8 speed works on that thing?

 

Anyone know any good boat/trailer mechanics near Delco? Outside of my trailer tires are wearing and I think the trailer needs an alignment.

 

Hope you boys enjoy your Monday…. Christian and I spent a lot of time with brother joe this weekend, fishing, drinking and mowing…. Yesterday was brutal on the tractors but we got about 90% of what was needed. Started at 1 and I gave up at 5…. Couldn’t hang anymore. 3 beer and 6 waters…. Then cooled off by the creek side wading through the water chasing crayfish….

Was a great weekend. Started off Friday drinking to much and Saturday I not drink cuz I was still drunk and back at it Sunday

we have a huge facility in Braddock.. fingers crossed we stay running or the Mill will be pretty pissed and stretched resources will be even worse off.

 

Braddock , thats only a few miles from me. The oxygen plant ? Or Edgar Thompson? Can't think of anything else down around there.

 

Only 3 hours into my shift and the union issues are flying! Somebody help me....

 

My entire town lost power last night. Didnt bother me too much since I wasnt home and working. But its weird driving thru town and its completely blacked out.

Back around 98 I had the privilege (cough cough) of working at ET (Edgar Thompson) in the middle of summer doing the electrical on a blast furnace rebuild. Hot, dirty..... however it put food on the table. In fact we had our forth child on that job, superintendent told me if I miss work again I'm fired , but but but my wife was giving birth. SMH. One of US Steel finest plants...1 of 3 US Steel's plant in the Mon Valley.

We call that the BOP plant. In fact right after that ET job they send some of us over to that place to work. I was twisting wires and bending conduit for Sargent Electric back then.

 

pretty big outfit..lots going on there.
