    Hi,

I had my engine light come on and it was suggested I use an OBD2 scanner to see what the fault number was.

So I've got this little KonnWei KW902 that I've had and tried plugging that into the adapter and it has power when I turn on the switch. I follow the instructions to use it through my WIFI connection and it will not connect to the ECU.

I have no idea if this is supposed to connect to the internet. It does not. It says it is connected but there's no internet connection. It even has the message conneted, but no internet connection. Torque app does not recognize it. Nothing is getting through.

There is no connection to the ECU. I'm getting no response from my Torque program in my phone. I don't know if it's phone, or the car or the adapter or the WIFI.

Now I'm thinking one of those cheap Bluetooth models might work.

Can you recommend one that works through the Blue Tooth system that is cheap and I can use through the Torque app.

    Thanks

    Lou

That model is supposed to be use with an Andriod phone and bluetooth for connection. From your post your using WIFI so just switch it to bluetooth.

    Hi,

Okay, I just bought one of the Android Blue tooth models by ELM. The one recommended by Speedytech. The mini bluetooth.

    Thanks for the advice.

If you're local to the bay area and still struggling with it, let me know.

Did you try switch your connection to bluetooth on the KW902? I think you just had the connection setting wrong. Iphone uses WIFI and Andriod phone uses bluetooth.

Is it normal for the airbag light to stay on when the ELM327 is connected?

No, something is odd if it is putting the SRS system into diag mode

I had mine for over 11 years and use it half a dozen times a year for various vehicles. Mine looks more like the one that I linked though. I never tries it with the clear case ones that are smaller.

Mine does it sometimes. Not sure what it's all about but goes out once it's unplugged.

I have a bluetooth OBDII dongle and it triggers my ABS light to stay on if I have it plugged in when I start the truck. I have to plug it in after the truck is running to avoid that.

But I have a Scanguage now so I never use the dongle anymore.

    Hi,

Okay, I got the Elm unit plugged in and set my system on the phone to look for Bluethooth devices and it came together very quick. You need to set your torque program to work with Blue tooth. I gave up trying to figure out the problem with the WIFi.

Sooooo, here's the fault. PO505 Ide control system. It said 2 faults but each line item was the same P0505. That still leaves me in the dark as to which gizmo is causing that fault. Can anyone narrow down what needs fixing ?

Torque works great with that little scanner. I'll remove it since it fired up as soon as I plugged it in with the engine off. The files on the disk that go into the computer had no auto loasd feature so that was confusing as to which files I needed. I'm not sure I needed any of them when using the torque program.

I would not use that disc. If my memory serves me right, it was full of viruses and trojan horses. You got the small disc right? The one that is 1/4 size of a full CD?
