I keep seeing people post about how great their truck is after a tune. No one ever really says what is so much better so I want to know:

    What improves with the tunes?

Why go with one over the other?

I have had both. I like the KDMax better. But that’s my opinion.

Biggest answer is driveability. The truck responds how u think it should. Kdmaxx all the way

Ran the 2.0 SFOB on my 2018 MT and after some tweaking I got pretty close to where I wanted it to be and they would make the truck rip pretty good but I could never tune out the misfire feeling while getting on the highway that with stock tuning.

I decided to try the KDMaxx, and it felt pretty good (smoother in power delivery than the 2.0 tunes) but it still had the misfire like stumble in the mid range under heavy loads while accelerating in 3rd and 4th gear and power at highway cruising seemed a little soft. I tried running premium and regular with no change after two tanks of each so I went back to my 2.0 tunes since they felt more powerful even with the stumble.

I'd reach out to @TermLimits and have him hook you up with a ValleyRunner file. I just wrapped up testing on the 2018 MT ValleyRunner tune and I have to say, it feels amazing. No more stumble while getting on the highway, throttle feel is fantastic, power delivery is super smooth, the misfire feeling is gone and I wound up picking up some MPG's over the OVT and KDMaxx even with 33's and manual mpg calculation.

Disclaimer: This is my .02 based on my butt dyno. I know a lot of people love the KD tunes and the 2.0 OVT's so I am not bashing either one. I just never found one to work as well as the ValleyRunner has on my truck and Jeff's customer service is second to none.

I second ValleyRunner. Has worked a lot better for my truck than other tunes.

Kd max is way better than OV 2.0. In every way. More power, better shifting. OV helped the shifting a bit. KD max made the truck work. You still need gears to make the truck operate the way it should but the tune gets pretty close to perfect. I wouldn't even compare 2.0 to KD MAX.
