Fair enough, but I still don’t care for the hyperlink to another company on this thread….. to each their own agreed. 12k is steep, I missed that hike. 10k is steep as well. Had I not got in when I did i probably would have stuck around for my GFC …. Which I would probably be picking up mid July.

What fasteners did you order, if you don’t mind my asking?

Haven't kept track of the number of nights but I've been doing pretty well. Finally got the GTFO light kit installed. No bugs and a nice campfire ambiance when set on orange.

I plan early, im not supposed to be able to pick mine up till December, im guessing later. But, ill be driving from Akron ohio to Portland for this. Im going to take 2 days to get there. Once installed, im going to take maybe 2 weeks to come home, northern route. Camping and adventuring along the way. What im thinking about it heat. I have a propane buddy heater, but would like to avoid the moisture. There needs to be a decent all inclusive diesel heater. Doesnt exist, but that would be nice. What are the current owners doing for heat?

Feel free to bring a second one back for my Dad and drop it off at the intersection of 271 & 71 :)

I'd recommend an electric blanket and a large Goal Zero/Jackery or something you can recharge while driving.

As for an all-inclusive Diesel (kerosene will work):

Electric blanket is a good idea. Doesn't help the dog though sleeping down below. I'm expecting cold ass weather.

I took a heated blanket on a trip where it dropped below 0 and the plug froze and the blanket wouldn’t power on. Have a back up plan for sure if you go that route.

Chinese Diesel Heater for sure. The Lavaner Pro 2KW gets lots of very good reviews. Most important part is setting it up correctly. There are a lot of YouTube videos on how to set these up correctly. John Mck has great videos on CDHs. No moisture and very little CO.

How is everyone thinking of venting the diesel heater?

People usually will route through one of the cubby holes on the rear of the bed near the tailgate.
Few will drill out a hole through the bed to route exhaust there.

Second this one. It holds a charge longer and moves air better than the smaller pumps.

Candidly, I rarely use it to deflate, as I've found just folding the exped in half or thirds and kneeling on/pushing the air out works just fine and takes about as much time.

I'm looking to build a portable heating unit that can sit inside or out, and will use one of the cubbies for exhaust if I keep it inside. I'm still in the design phase...

Don't bother "designing" your own from scratch. Many have done this already...

The big issue you need to figure out is how to power it with enough battery capacity for the pump & heating element (glow plug?) cycling on and off.
