What issues are you having? In my experience, transmission shops are shady at best.

You most likely could buy a used tranny from LKQ and swap it vs. "rebuilding" the one you have.

So I have a 1984 Corvette project car. I’ve already replaced the pan and pan gasket, but it’s still leaking a bunch. I can’t get to all the other seals/gaskets with the thing in the car.

Anyone know of a descent camp spot near a waterfall that you can play in. Some place not heavily trafficked would be awesome.

Driving and hiking will be good. Not a long hike though. It will be with four kids and the wife. About a mile is all they'll be up for.

Also not just in GA. TN, NC, SC, will all be good too. Trying to keep in under a 4 hour drive from hartwell. Once again that's about all the patience the kids before they start driving me crazy.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
My backyard, about 2hrs N of you.

Depending on your definition of "waterfall" Sliding Rock in Wildcat Creek can be a lot of fun for kids:

It's about a 15 foot slide down the rock into the pool below. Sliding rock itself can see a decent amount of traffic, but the primitive campsites further up the road don't see as much use. Although right now with everyone escaping into the woods due to Covid I'm not sure what you'll find. I just got back from a multi-day trip in the Nantahala Wilderness and every campsite everywhere was full of RV's with generators. Even primitive campsites in the middle of the forest had Airstreams in them. It was like nothing I've ever seen. Had to seek out rough unused portions of FS roads to get to dispersed sites and away from people.

My other suggestion that has nice water features to look at would be anything along Tallulah River Road outside of Clayton. There are 3 campgrounds along the road, Tallulah, Tate and Sandy Bottoms. While there last week the first two were completely full but my daugther and I had the third (Sandy Bottoms) to ourselves. Plenty of water to play in, but the waterfalls along this stretch of the Tallulah River I would consider dangerous. ;)

Campsites here are right on the river:

Likewise. One of the best places on earth in my mind.

Our family cabin is right across road on east wildcat. Used to walk down to Kastners store to get candy and root beer and put it on my families tab. Which was a 5x7 index card that got settled up monthly. Those days are long gone.

Since you grew up there you probably know. Isn't there another entrance to that trail other than right there near lake burton?
