Misaligned from the factory. They usually mess the bed, tailgate, or rear bumper up.

Hey fellow Phoenician! I’ll give that a shot thanks. If it doesn’t change my trade in value I can live with it- but I have to imagine such a great difference between left and right gaps would be a problem. ‍♂️
Stay cool- thanks for your time!

I believe it is just reported because it is attached to the VIN. I can't imagine something like that would cause a ton of depreciation. My truck was about $5k less than new and 3 years old off of a lease. It didn't report it as a crash though. It was just mentioned in history.

IMO the receiver step is noticeably uglier than the gap below the brake light.

You’ll get no arguments from me on that. It’s ugly and I think it’s time for it to go away.

I got clipped by a Portland city bus (Trimet) this past Saturday while moving my daughter from college to an appartment. My nose was sticking out and while I was unhooking my trailer, the fine driver "thought she could get pass"... She was wrong.

Buffed out the tire mark but the front right is about .25" low. Only I would notice. I want it made right but know sure as hell that BS Car Fux will be implemented... Not sure what to do.

Good sir- the gap on the left is so huge I plan on using it for burrito storage. If that isn’t an issue for you, then kudos on your zen like existence. For me it looks shitty- and I was unsure what caused it. Thanks to the good people here I’ve been educated it is a common issue and I’m super grateful for the education.

If my question is deemed unworthy by some, I have no control over that. Last time I checked- this place was for learning, exchanging ideas, et al. If the people I’ve offended would like to PM me their names, I will send them a handwritten apology note. God bless.

I’m not an attorney- but wouldn’t their insurance take care of any of your damages? Or are they deeming it your fault?

The incident could be considered equal fault. Tacoma wasn't parked legally and the bus hit the Tacoma. Much would depend on the situation at the time and the road.

I think I'd just live with it or fix it and not bother with an insurance claim

At least your cab and bed were on the frame correctly, took the body shop two days to fix that!

265/75R16 Wildpeak AT3W, Softopper, Kicker speakers, shift knob, Ventvisors, Tint, Husky Weatherbeaters, Hondo Garage radio knobs. The to do list: Bilstein 6112/5160, 3 leaf add-a-leafs, lights, alu skid, PRP seat covers...
Its factory alignment (as previously pointed out). First saw this on a coworker's '19 and a friend of mine bought a '20 with this same condition.

Replace your pipe with this https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hitch-skid-group-buy.678911/ Not as wide of coverage as your pipe, but should deflect most of the energy from a car under the truck. And it doesn't stick out as far.

Not so sure resale is much of an issue. Right now my trade in for average condition is $36k and great condition $37k in my area. I have a '17 DCLB TRDOR with 63k miles on it. Sticker was $38k and I paid $35k. Makes me consider ditching it to go back to a half ton, but I like it too much right now lol
