    Hey all,

I have a 2020 OR and I am aware opening the door shuts off the engine after a remote start. It’s AZ so I started it to cool it today and when I went to get in, it stayed running which has never happened. I at first thought I did something different and was on to something to overcome the safety feature of it shutting off. When I closed the door and put it in drive, it then shut down. When I pushed the start button the accessories turned on but would not start. Tried a few times and started to see a warning to check the charging system. I decided to disconnect the battery for a minute and reset everything and it worked after that.

Anyone ever come across anything like this? Maybe my battery is weak hence the charging system warning?

If the battery is too weak, it won't remote start. Know first hand.
Is the door switch working? Did the "dome" lights come on? Assuming they're not turned off of course.

Yep same thing happened to me with my 2021 I traded in a few weeks ago. I used the remote start probably 12 times and it happens two times. First time I let it sit for the morning and it started. The next time I was curious to see the reset time, and it ended up being about 15 min. I never took it to the dealer because they’ll never find an intermittent issue like that. I stopped using the remote start because it was just a pain in the ass at that point.

I have a 19 with aftermarket remote start and this has happened to me twice (in 2 years). Both times I got out of the truck and locked and unlocked the doors a few times and it started up like normal after that. No idea what caused it and its so rare it I just chalk it up to a glitch.

Everything was lighting up as if the accessories were on. The error was on the display where the odometer is. It said to check the charging system. It was confusing and now I am more paranoid to use it when I am not at home or no I am in a hurry so I don't have to figure it out at those times.

It always has the check charging system warning when in accessory mode with the engine off.

Did you shift back out of Drive before trying to restart?

Ahh, I didn't realize that. First time I had seen it. I did shift back to Park before trying to start.

The truck won't start in drive. Only park and neutral.

I’m clear on the car being in park to start, just had never seen the charge system alert.

Sorry, I mis-read your post. Hopefully the issue was just a fluke.

Jut a thought, but where was your second key fob? I had some issues with a remote start. Pushing the lock three times. My second fob was inside the truck and it wouldn't really lock due to that. Played havoc with the remote start.

When the truck shuts off, it takes like 30 seconds before the push to start will respond. If I remote start, open the door, (truck shuts off) then try to restart, it'll usually take a bit before it'll actually recognize the key press. How many times didju try, just once?

My truck always displays the "check charging system" when the truck is in the running mode? but not actually running. I think its pretty standard. Any time my key seems to be doing something weird, even while sitting in the truck i will press the fob lock unlock buttons a couple times and it seems to help the truck realize the keys are actually in the vehicle. happens once or twice a year maybe.
