If LB fits in your garage, and you are a competent parallel parker, get one.

if you think the DCLB will limit your rock crawling capabilities, have a look around at what some of the forum members’ DCLB’s can do

I dont rock crawl, I dont really even offroad, but I do have kids, kayaks, bikes, mini bikes, gokarts and various other fun things that need to be moved. So, I have a long bed.

Not sure how this would even be a debate.

Get the vehicle that meets your personal needs.

I could not utilize a 5’ bed for what I need a truck for. Others can and do just fine and happily.

    Do you, boo boo.

I got the short bed since I don't regularly haul stuff in my truck. Suites my needs perfectly and plenty of room for the gear I bring while camping.

Long bed. Is long bed that popular, not that popular, or they only make a limited number of them? All 3 of my Tacoma is short bed b/c at the time of purchase, they don't have the long bed.

If I had room in the garage I would own a long bed, I use my truck to mostly commute but when I haul it's used to it's capacity and then some. The long bed would be more convenient for the longer stuff.

Why did you make this thread? You seem to have a truck already. Plenty of LB vs SB dumpster fires.

Long bed for sure! If you are going to use the truck for hauling anything the extra space is always welcome.

I have a SB, my buddy has the LB, I complain that I need more cargo space, he complains about it being a pain to park. Is there any expectation for Toyota to produce a retractable bed?

    - One problem -- lack of cargo space -- cannot be fixed
    - The other -- parking difficulty -- can be fixed for free, get good

(in all seriousness, no one cares about you trying 3+ times to park properly more than yourself, just have patience)

    So, again, long bed

Simple solution is to make a tacoma cab over. Keep the bed, lose the front half of the truck.

Had both, prefer the long bed. 12 inches of extra storage turns out to be way more beneficial than I could have imagined when I was trucking along in my SB.

    I currently have both:

    2016 DCSB

[IMG]IMG-2001 by Michael Rickerd, on Flickr

    and a 2021 DCLB

[IMG]IMG-2010 by Michael Rickerd, on Flickr

The Long Bed is growing on me more and more. After it gets a small lift and 33's I bet it will look proportionally better than the DCSB. It's currently too long and low to look precise IMO.

I live in a wide open town and don't deal with our small downtown too often, so having a longer truck is no hindrance to my day to day activities.

I'd vote for DCLB if I was forced to. But get what works for you.

It depends on you. If you can utilize a LB, then get a LB. I have a SB and I have no complaints. Its a disadvantage when i need to put big stuff in there though.
