Took the Tacoma to the dealership for an oil change Monday. Only 4 new cars on the lot. No trucks or SUVs.

 

i like the factory look. so when i saw that i needed to find one lol

 

It's scheduled for Friday delivery, so if it shows up on time I have all 4th of July weekend to see if I like it.

Installed AVS vent shades. This truck gets a lot hotter than my old white tundra. Now I need to figure out how to get the AVS logo off without messing up the finish.

 

First post in the 3rd Gen section... didn't want to make a dedicated thread, but also unfamiliar with the 3rd Gen section threads at the moment. I currently drive a 2014 AC v6 4x4 - have a baby coming in November. The ol' access cab just won't cut it so my wife and i are contemplating what to do. I'd like to stay in a Tacoma and move to a four door. Rather than selling my AC and buying another 2nd gen (not that its out of the question) that probably has high miles at this point my best bet is to probably move up into a 3rd gen. I did read through the 'what did you pay for your 3rd gen' thread and looks like i'm looking at anywhere from $35-45k for something fairly new.

Can anyone point me to any threads (i did search a bit but couldn't find anything) or just tell me what years are best for the 3rd gens? Coming from a 2nd gen i hear a lot about the AT transmissions being an issue. I'm not opposed to a manual... might even prefer it this go around. What I know i want is:

- four door
- v6
- 4x4

I don't really do 'off-roading' and use my current 4x4 more for snow driving (go to Tahoe and Big Bear a lot in the winter) so i probably don't need like a TRD OR. Just anything in general i should know about as i ponder moving from 2nd gen to 3rd gen??

 

Goo gone sprayed on a paper towel, let it sit for 10ish minutes. Then I just scrapped mine off with my fingernail, came off very easily. No damage to the finish at all.

For the Hookup

 

Added the TRD Shift Knob and the TRD Start/Stop Button. You can barely see the grippy RAV4 radio buttons as well.

 

I'm interested in getting one, do you have a link for that?
