Have only taken this out for a spin to make sure brake controller worked, and it did...
Was going to take it to the Grand Canyon last week but with all the fires decided not to.
Look forward to cooler temps for sure.

I suspect the Tacoma should have no problem with this thing... tips the scales at around 1,000 ~ 1,200 pounds depending.

There has been other discussions on this item, if ECT mode will do the trick or if I should also engage to S5. I guess I'll get a better
feel for it when I actually take it out and hit some inclines.

I use a load leveling hitch with mine but it’s also about 4000lbs full loaded. It helps so much

I do but it's more utilitarian since Lynn's idea of camping is a Holiday Inn. :D

It's not much but I'm usually pulling this trailer with 2 quads or a RT188 bass boat about every other weekend.

This is what I tow the most. The taco is perfect for something like this.

My kinda gal....my idea of roughing it is a hotel without room service o_O

One of the main reasons I got my Taco was to be able to tow my Honda Goldwing when I didn't have the time to ride it to where I was going. The Rav4 wasn't going to cut it for that. It will be on a UHaul 5x9 motorcycle trailer (can't see buying a utility trailer for 2-3 time a year of use). 1240 lbs empty plus another 900 lbs for the bike, no additional payload other than luggage and a helmet. Should be well within what the Tacoma can handle comfortably.

We pull our deck boat that weighs 3500 lbs. dry, around 4800 lbs. on the trailer. Our yearly mileage while towing is 1200 miles or less. The trailer is balanced perfectly thus the sag is negligible and we don't need WDH or air bags or Sumo Springs. I installed a TruCool 4490 trans. cooler. I am going to try pinning the trans. fluid thermostat open to see what effect that will have on our trans. temps. We pulled the boat without the cooler and I didn't see any excessive temps. (212° F was tops and it came down very quickly). Haven't pulled it very much since installing the TrueCool but it should run much cooler.

The truck handles the boat remarkably well. I run in S4 with ECT engaged at all times. Our boat towing is confined to flat country and there is very little wind resistance to deal with. I can tow the boat 70 MPH without the Taco even breaking a sweat. So far we've been very impressed.

I’ll have to check out that trans cooler. It’s gets hot towing in and out of the desert. Multiple grades to climb.

There are a bunch of different trans. coolers available. Not sure if there are any that are head and shoulders above the rest. I went with the TruCool since the physical dimensions and the fitting sizes were compatible with my installation. I've read that B&M coolers are exactly the same as TruCool. I don't know that to be a fact. Many have installed, and are quite happy with Hayden coolers. I've never really looked into a Hayden but I'm sure they will do the job as well as most all the rest.
