    Hey folks!

    Fixing up a 2004 1st gen xtra-cab 5 Lug 2.4 manual w59 and looking for some info I can't seem to find.

I don't want to lift the truck but I would like to bring the nose up some. The OEM front spring are tired and saggy, was there a particular year (like 99 on the 4Runners) where the 2WD 5 Lugs had taller front springs?

I do not want to run spacers or any kind of lift. I just want the truck to sit level while stock.

It will be getting Bilstein 4600 series factory replacement shocks unless there's something more recommend.

Truck is mostly used for commuting and once in a blue moon moving stuff like appliances or pianos.

you wont get the truck to "sit level while stock" with any sort of stock springs.

indeed the springs for the 01-04 5 lugs were maybe an inch-ish longer than previous. With v6 coils and a spacer lift, you will achieve it "being level" with the rear, any less it will have rake. (with no lift in the rear)

V6 springs will even fit in a 5 Lug?

I wouldn't have expected them too as the 6 Lugs have completely different suspensions no?

Or were there V6 5 Lugs?

not too keen on husky, but id assume that they would hold up just as well. OEM coil springs on the 5 lugs seem to sag soon as is

havent heard complaints from others with the moog springs

As said, if you can find a v6 spring form a 5 lug, you could do that, but I definitely would find them used. they'd be just as worn out, lol.

Then again, all you're doing there is making the ride unnecessarily stiff, since the springs is designed to carry more weight than you have.

Will it make you feel better if it's called a "leveling kit" instead of a lift?

Personally I'd still call that a spacer lift, but as it's not acting directly on the shock like on a true coil over maybe?

How does that impact ride quality? Obviously a longer spring would have better harmonics and travel through it's range, does a spacer like that cause premature coil bind?

Really surprised there's not a well known but random solution like a rear honda accord spring or something like that.

What do the "lifted" 5 luggers lift with on a gem 1? I know it's not as easy as slapping some upper arms and a coil over in like a 6lug.

I'm with you on not really liking spacer lifts, they aren't ideal, but the price is right, lol... I was just joking about how "leveling kits" are just spacer lifts by a different name.

Honestly, I just did a quick google search and found that link, so I really don't know that much about them.

There probably is a secret sauce lift that people have done, I'm just out of that world since it's been like 15 years since I've owned one. You might try the 5-lug specific forum.

There's a spindle lift that the 5 luggers do, but that's ranging on converting to a pre-runner style and is I think a 3" lift.

Did the 4600s work with a lift? I have a 1.5" spacer and want to make sure I'm getting the best option
