Falken Wildpeak AT/3 tires

I run wildpeaks in 265 70 17 and love them. I have no issues with my stock gearing. Most guys who feel the need to regear are running some big boy LRE tires.

 

I have 275's and a tune. Runs fine.

 

No way. I ran 265/70-17's for almost 50k miles and never even considered a regear. That includes probably 20-25k miles towing.

I switched to 255/80-17's, now these make me wonder about a regear lol.

 

I replaced my 265/70-17 SL AT3W's about a month or so ago after almost 50k miles. The tires still had some life left, but were getting loud and had given up all winter traction. thankfully we didn't get much snow, but they were not working anymore. Still looked fine though. I would highly recommend these tires as I think they are almost perfect, if not on the heavy side.

Very quiet, look great, had no real issues or flats.
Definitely not a mud tire though lol.

 

Was debating between these and Cooper discoverer at3 and seeing the prices of Falkens jump about 60 bucks a tire in the past 12-18months i decided to go with the coopers

Does anyone have the falken at3 on a stock sport that went up in size without having to do any modifications and can show me a picture. My stock size is 265/65/17

 

Did you notice a big difference? I’m getting close to making the exact same switch.

Big? Not to the point where I think I need a regear.

Noticeable difference though, yeah. I'm not a stop light drag racer so it doesn't really bother me much. It has caused no noticeable issues when towing other than the RPM's being different to the point where my truck used to do 5th gear, it will frequently be in 4th now. I get about 16.5 MPG's hand calculated now, so I gave up about 1-2 MPG.

 

That would be me. 265/70R17s and the sway bar delete are my only suspension mods. 25k on them now and could not be happier.

If I go a notch lower than yours (265/70R17) on a full stock TRD Sport with OEM mudflaps will it rub anywhere?

Just got some Wildpeak AT3W (275/70/17) with new wheels today. Sitting on OEM lift kit. For me, a good match with the OEM lift and tire size.

 

I just got the SL's and had read a few comments on low mileage so I'm glad to hear you had them for a while.

I just put a set of 16" TRD wheels on my Sport and I'm running 265/75/R16 with Falken Wildpeaks. I sell RAM trucks and Jeeps for a living and they're my go-to tires to put on those too. Great for winter, minimal road noise and reasonable off-road tire - they don't break the bank either!

 

This is a 2021 SR5 with a bone stock suspension and a set of 265/75/16 Wildpeaks put on and today took off the air dam (photo is a few days old). That will be about the extent of my 'mods' for the foreseeable future.
They've been quiet, ride well and have handled the last 7 days of rain pretty well. Also no rubbing on my mud flaps - I live out here in Bumfuk Kansas where it's several miles of gravel, mud, drifting snow and whatever to even see blacktop - they seem to do just fine.
