I will have to check it out eventually. it is also about 2 hours from me, depending on traffic. I know they do some races there that I have been interested in trying.
I am considering going to that race.

    • Revel Ranger
    • Ibis Ripley

What else should I be considering for a FS Trail bike? I'm looking at 120R/130F travel, no more. I've test ridden the Pivot and Yeti, but cannot find a Revel and/or Ibis to swing a leg over to save my life. Also... I have historically ridden large framed bikes, but reading some of the new geometry numbers... I may be purchasing a medium. These bikes look LOOOONG.

If you’re not opposed to aluminum, check out the Banshee Phantom too. Have seen pretty awesome reviews on it

I’m biased, but I’d add the Evil
following to that list. It’s a 130/120 bike. Super nimble and very fun.

It’s not exactly close to you but Sixes Pit in Canton GA is a Revel (yeti, etc.) dealer. If you make it over that way let me know. I have a medium Following you’re welcome to throw a leg over if I can coordinate some timing.

Personally I'd add the Kona Hei Hei. A little more on the race side but geometry wise it is a more aggressive XC bike, similar to the revel ranger.

The Transition Spur is probably worth a look. It’s 120/120, but people rave about it. I was contemplating one, but couldn’t find one… such is life in 2021.

good luck! I feel like the availability is going to be the determining factor. There are so many good bikes in that category though!

Well the SB130 has....130 rear travel so it doesn't meet your stated requirements and is a bigger bike than the others you listed. The SB115 might fit with those other bikes better. But there is some overlap in that category for sure. Did you mean Pivot Trail 429? Otherwise possibly add the Spur, Following, Tallboy, Django. 1/2 category "up" I'd add Optic (125r/140f), '21 Stumpy (130r/140f), SB130, Rascal. Many more but those are on the top of my head.

If you are used to older geo size large frames you will likely find yourself VERY cramped on newer geo size mediums. The cockpit has stayed relatively the same on new geo vs old geo size for size because, while the reach has grown, stems are shorter and seat tube angles are steeper.
