    Not turbo related but my wheels got here before my turbo’s showed up. I was wondering if which one would arrive first and wheels won. Waited over 6 months for these.

    This is exactly the problem i have been having with my iat. In idaho especially right now with outside temps getting close to 110 i lose a lot of power. Ive thought about cutting a hole in the hood right above the air filter and putting a hood scoop to force outside air into the engine compartment to see if that helps.

    I think you need a pretty tall scoop to be of any benefit. I put some louvers on my hood to encourage more air to pass though the engine bay. Didn't notice any difference in temps.

    It wouldnt necessarily be to push heat out of the engine bay. My filter is directly installed on my turbo, so the air would be forced directly into the turbo intake path.

    Not really. Mat's updated map still hasn't dropped, for anyone. I'm confident that it's not finished, even though he stated multiple times that it was.

    Only other "update" I suppose would be one of my pipes keeps blowing under boost, no matter how much I clamp it down.

    It's got welded pieces with the weld ridges all along it because of the curve it makes. Which obviously prevents a good permanent seal. I've got a local shop fabbing up a replacement that will be nice and smooth so that the coupler can get a good seal on there.

    Other than that, everything's fine. I'm certainly super lucky that my current tune is g2g and I'm not rocking a shit tune (I assume) while waiting on that promised update. Truck drives great, just been lots of little things here and there to iron out. But I'd take a poor pipe-coupler connection over any of the issues the other guys are having any day. I feel for them, they can only remain positive for so long...

    I mean, I suppose the weld ridges count as bead rolls. Lol but no, and with those ridges not being smoothed out, it doesn't let the pipe make a good seal anyway. And they're too close together for the clamp to sit between them.

    For the record, this isn't the pipe that came in the kit. Or it is, but not in this form. It was one smooth piece but the angle of the turn was wrong, wouldn't line up for the coupler for the following piece, so you're seeing the result of the "fix". A poor one it turned out.

    Ahhhhh. Ok. Makes perfect sense now.

    Ran into many a problem of popped couplings. Makes for a scary moment in time, until you find that to be the sole problem.

    The constant tension clamps work quite well, as an alternative to t-bolt clamps. Seen them on Hyundai turbo engines. Man they are freaking strong though. Wear gloves and safety glasses.

    Similar to the oem hose clamps on our radiator hoses.

    Got the truck back, it's running well, holding boost.

    They also said they could redo the whole piping setup whenever I'd like, to make it both cleaner/prettier and with way less couplers (which are obviously potential failure points).

    Might eventually take them up on that.

    Weld on sliders, fiberglass shell, 12k winch in an Elite Offroad bumper, front Aussie Lunchbox
    Snips from Harbor Freight with a little chop saw work. Does wonders on aluminum tubing. Make 1st pass skipping some then come back and finish it up solid.
