Yeah deer are fair game for baiting. I do on occasion hunt with bait but it tends to draw game that you don’t want. Like elk bear and turkey all of which you can’t bait. Mineral licks are my favorite. All game come to it but it’s generally just passing through and they don’t stay long like they would with a mountain of corn. Even if you don’t see the buck you want at least you see something.

I think of it this way….when you hit the mountains you are in eastern ky, the rolling hills west to the flat lands is central and from there is western. I don’t travel to the western part much although I do like it. I just haven’t had much of a reason.

That's a better way to explain it. I just pulled up Google maps and drew lines lol

I'm also the only active eastern member that wheels his truck and shows up to meets...

Lol what shows and meets? I guess I have missed a few. I haven’t seen any shows or meets in eastern ky. As far as wheeling mine I’m out. I have a side by side if I break it I can leave it in my shop till I get around to fixing it.

We've been to Rush 4 years in a row, Black Mountain a handful of times. RRG several times. No formal trips since you've been around though.

We'll be at Rush in September this year, meet thread in the main Kentucky subforum. You're welcome to join with your SxS, just don't wear a flat bill hat lol
With me moving down your way, I suspect Black Mountain will get visited more as well.

So doing gear installs on my rear diff... I found I need almost a 1/4" of shims on the pinion. That feels like a lot to me. Any thoughts?

I guess if that’s what it needs. What ratio are you going with? I was driving yesterday and thought it would be nice if the entire gear spread was one lower. First gear a mule gear or super low and only one overdrive.

Damn, that's like the entire kit worth! I never pulled my pinion since I never found anyone to set mine, ended up returning everything to ECGS for a built exchange.

    4.88 in a first gen.

Yeah I was baffled that it needed that much, but thats what it looks like it needed.

Deeds, I must have had my head in the sand when you were looking for help. Sorry about that!

Every bourbon distillery in the land! :drunk:

Red River Gorge is awesome. Fort Boonesborough near Richmond. Henry Clay estate in Lexington. Rupp arena, duh.
Lake Cumberland if you dig fishing.
