What kind of high stakes bet did you lose to wind up in Arkansas?

It was 96° inside the house on Sunday night. Was still in the high 80s in the morning inside. This is will all windows open and fans (4) blowing on the high setting.

But it never got yo 114° yesterday, only to 109°.:puke:

My solution for Monday was to avoid it as much as possible. Went to the coast yesterday. Long Beach wasn't too bad (mid-80s for the high) with a very welcome breeze off the water.

Much better today. It's 84° atm.

Hit 113 here, we kept the house down to a cool 92 until 11pm when the outside temp finally dropped below that.

Awesome that you escaped out to the coast, I bet the weather was perfect.
Beaches in WA are considered public highways with a speed limit of 25…unless they close them to vehicle travel, which is most of them. Oregon is much better about opening beaches for driving on.

That is miserable. Not much sleep can happen in those conditions. Andit is definitely compounded by the high humidity.

This morning (10 am ish) I went for a walk thinking I could handle the temp at 75° but what got to me was the humidity. Not typical for here at 72%. Made the heat feel way more oppressive. Is Wa the new South?

Belay that talk. I lived in the south for an eternity (3 summers) and I won’t be doing it again.

It's oddly humid even over here. The cruiser was dumping buckets out of the AC drain

It seemed like half really cool and half complete shit hole.

The library downtown was even in a cool old building, but I definitely locked the GFC for the first time on the trip.

Enough money to hopefully take the rest of the year off beginning in August. Not sure if it's worth it though.

    Hey y'all.
My name is Andy and I live about 45 minutes south of Cheyenne in Fort Collins CO. In late July we are going to take my mom to Yellowstone. On the way up we plan to camp. Friday July 16 specifically. I'm concerned about the easy sites at usfs campgrounds that are first come at Wood River, Brown Mountain and Jack Creek east of Meeteetse between Thermopolis and Cody. Additionally all sites east of Cody at Wapiti are booked already. All this to say I know it's getting close but I thought I'd see if anyone chimed in on suggestions for camping along the way. Unfortunately I'd need it to be a bit tame as my brother is following in a Honda CR-V I believe. I'd love to be around Cody ultimately to leave more time to fish our way to west yellowstone by the end of the day. Any input from the locals?

Btw @Squeaky Penguin we will be in the Madison Mammoth and Tetons areas from the 16 til the 23 if you are around let's hike in to one of those bear areas where they recommend a group going in together of atleast 4. Me you and my brother would be fine if we convince the rangers signing the Backcountry permit we are up for it.... Thinking east of Gardiner into the Lamar Valley areas mostly.... Bring the fishing gear

Might be able to make something work. I'm always game for hiking and fishing. Supposed to be in bozeangles next weekend anyways to catch @Night Eagle

And I should probably be more concerned about bears... usually have a pistol on me, but didn't bring it due to hopefully getting into Canada. Should at least pick up some spray.

I'll try not to get mauled today.

Yeah pretty hard to get into the camp grounds up the north fork out of Cody. Lot of tourist traffic through there.

If you can, which I haven't been down there this year so might be a risk, but if you go past the camp ground on the Wood River there are a few random camp sites throughout there. Some big river crossings though. However, i'm sure the river is very low. I've heard its passible to get to Kerwin so should be fine in a truck. Not sure about the Honda though, should be fine I'd think. There are a few other places if you kick around there. But the further you go there the further you are from Cody.

There is BLM land around Cody you could park on and camp too. Not very glamorous and potentially very hot. But could do that. Newton Lakes might be an option too.

Monument hill just North of Cody isn't too bad, it's a long ways till you get to USFS land up on top of the mountain but could find a spot up there Im sure.

East of Cody is tough as it's a canyon once you hit USFS so not a lot of room other than the camp grounds. Everything before that is basically private unless you really know where you're going. And the folks there will call the cops if you trespass on a road even to get to public land. Which there is a lot of land locked public land there sadly.

I always lean on a family friend that has a cabin up the Northfork to park at and camp in. So not much advice there. Best bet could also be around Cooke City and Sunlight basin for camping if you're going into the Lamar valley.

Thanks for the input. That is about what I had figured it would be. My brother and I will be off fishing and hiking in my truck while my mom and my wife sight see and explore and shop in the Honda most days. I should have said my mom is taking us as she got lodging covered the rest of our trip. She said it would be fun to camp one night though. I'm more familiar with the bridger side from the south as that's my normal route to stay with a friend or camp in their yard a bit outside of Jackson Hole. We want to fish new places though so going through Cody is the direction I'm heading and starting off Saturday morning in that vicinity would be most advantageous... I appreciate that info and will do some further research and exploring.
