I ordered it 2 weeks ago so it's due to come in around mid September. I know it's a while. I just wanted to see how much interest there would be.

Oh, the girlfriend wants to bring kayaks camping this summer so that'll be too late. In other words don't count on me for it.

I got an over the cap/softopper rack, that mounts in the bed and extends over the cab, if any one is interested.

Set of FIVE Toyo Open Country AT III's in LT 285/75/16 with white lettering. Approximately 400 miles on four of them with about 50 of those miles on logging trails and light wheeling. Fifth wheel is brand new only mounted. No holes, patches or any uneven wear. All measured withing .010 of each other minus the brand new one obviously.

$1100 picked up in southern NH. Already dismounted and ready to go.

These arrived straight May 20th, 2021 and were mounted a few days later and dismounted today June 29th, 2021. Date code on the tires is 9WM0921.

So I lead a trip to a spot in VT with 8 other trucks to a place that I have been to before. 6 of the trucks had Falkens, 1 had Duratracs, and one had Dick Cepeks. The trail was rough but nothing that I had not done before. When we got to the "lunch spot" we all did an inventory of any trail damage. Needless to say 3 out of my 4 (9 month old) BFG KO2's had chunks ripped out of the sidewalls. All in the same place which makes me think it was more an issue with the tires.

    And drivers side front:

No here is the difficult question that boggles my mind that maybe you can answer. All of the rips and chunks are in the opposite direction of forward tire rotation. I think I reversed twice on the trail but that was due to just moving out of the way for another vehicle to pass and it was on flat ground. Now you have a hell of a lot more trail experience then I have so maybe you can answer how the hell this might have happened. I am thinking that if I was going up a rock then the rip would be in the direction of tire rotation.....correct?

Looks like you're starting a tire warehouse haha

Judging by rock rash on the wheels in 2 of the 3 pics, Id guess you were really close to the edge of a few sharps rocks. Just enough to catch it and rip in

Believe me Zack, I completely understand that aspect, it is just weird that all of them go in the opposite direction of forward momentum.

Suppose it would depend on the shape of the rock too :notsure:

Very much agreed.....it just seems odd that the same thing happened in the same way to all three of my tires. I mean that I didn't hit the same rock with all three lol

The rash on your rims is behind the gouges in your tires, assuming the hinge of the gouge is the direction of rotation. That tells me your wheels were rotating forward when the damage happened. When the tire is rotating into a sharp rock and the rock starts to puncture the rubber, the point of puncture is rotating away from the sharp rock, putting the hinge of the flap on the side of the gouge in the direction of rotation. The rock went through the edge of your tire and as the wheel kept rotating, the rock hit your rim further back. Hold out your thumb. Stick a small knife through your thumb around the middle so the blade is facing the finger nail. Now pull your arm and thumb back toward your body. Your should be left with a nice flap of skin hanging off with the hinge pointing at the direction your thumb moved, just like your tires.
