What happens if they exercise? You lose your 100 shares?

Quick down-low on how that play would work?

So you bought the right to sell the $5 calls, and then sell the $5 calls for a premium? This options stuff is wild...

 

When my ASO calls are done I may snag a FEB 2022 call for ctxr if it dips around that time. I’ve got shares as well so if the stocks way up from now I won’t bother.

 

Also confused on that one with covered vs non covered.

 

So your premium is the collateral put down to sell 100 shares at the strike price. If the order doesn’t fill by the exp, you get your collateral back and keep all your shares.

 

And if it does fill?

 

Then he gets $5/share

 

You sold 100 shares.

So if I wanted to sell a $5 covered call on my 100 shares, I'd be selling the call at the above mentioned $.55, then if the buyer of said call decides to exercise, they buy my 100 shares at $5 and I make a total of $555?

Edit; I suppose the likelyhood of someone wanting to buy $5 shares right now is extremely low... but hypothetically?

 

Yep. Won’t exercise unless it’s ITM. They could just but the shares at market value

I only sold two of the Friday expiry.

the only thing that scares me about ASO is that the IPO was $13-$15. when its lock-up period is done it could get ugly
