They make c clip deletes, c-clip axles are common across lots of brands. They're illegal on some drag strips cause of the danger

All the off road groups around here are buggy’s and side by sides.

there’s like 2 solid axle 1st gens I see once in awhile.

See quite a few built up trucks drive through with out of state plates though.

I think I'll order a new Denso fuel pump with the strainer and related parts for the 100 before I head out to high altitudes.

We have a lot of SxS's as well, really depends on the area though. Up in the mountains you don't see them much. Enough though on some trails its annoying AF. In the desert areas they are like a plague of locusts

Does the 100 series have the big controller system that regulates how fast the pump operates like the 80 series?

I'm sure they are fun, but at least out here I think they offer an ease of entry into offroading that's too accessible for those with more money than sense, and you end up with a bunch of adrenaline jacked idiots driving around with zero experience or trail etiquette.

But there's a lot of those types in CA in general so it was only a matter of time I guess

Not sure.. I wouldn't be surprised. There is a big thread about a 100 catching fire in Silverton.

I got into the habit of proactively changing fuel pumps as a vehicle approached 200,000 miles. Though, fuel pump failures on early 90s Nissans did give a warning. The pump would start making a humming noise that sounded like a swarm of bees in the tank. A failing pump would start drawing more current when it would start to fail. The additional current draw would burn out the Fuel Pump Control Unit before the pump would completely fail. Replacing the FPCU was the more expensive item. Later 95+ Nissans didn't have that problem. The FPCU was eliminated as a separate component in later years.

I did learn that driving around on an empty tank is not good for the fuel pump. The pumps run cooler when completely submerged in fuel.

I don't know if the 100 has an FPCU to burn out. Here are some Hitachi engine management parts on the 100 like the MAF. I've seen some Hitachi design-like behavior as I get into the electrical system.
