let me heck. I bought 3 or 4 types and there are some that fit better than others. some flat ones. t slot types etc.

 

does that include install and paint? those are both extra too from what I recall. I assume so.

 

Yeah powdercoat is $1500 of the price. Not sure how much they charge for install since I would’ve still been waiting if I kept my spot with Vagabond. It would’ve almost been 2 years now

 

2 years to get a camper? Fuck, id build my own, take 2 years to do it.

 

2 years with current material shortages and other issues with suppliers. They were pumping them out much faster pre-COVID, just like everywhere else.

 

didn't seem that much shorter. I had a few folks waiting 15+ months before covid. I was looking into Vagabond when the X1 showed up and the short time frame was a big factor for me. Def nice setups. If it was a shorter time frame I may have ended up with a Vagabond.

 

I think its 5 or 600 but does include wiring and such that I am aware of. Either way apples to apples Vagabond has more features then X1.

 

My lead time was March 2020 right at the beginning of Covid before the shortages. But it doesn’t matter anymore. I’m happy that I have a wedge camper now.

 

Yeah one thing I wish the SP had that the Vagabond has is a clear window along with the mesh so I can have it open and see outside when it’s cold and rainy.

 

We can always add one to the doors. I know a few have considered it. That actually may be neat to have a window inside the door if its small enough.

The biggest feature vagabond has is the removable or slideable front window. SP noted they had not found one they liked but not too sure its been used on campers for decades but that would make it clutch. I miss that feature.

 

FYI I bought the one Peter had at SP when I picked up my camper. He had fashioned a little doohickey for deflating. Bottom line, doesn’t deflate, doesn’t inflate very well either. Nice little light though. I find letting the mattress self inflate for an hour and then using the hand pump is easier and more efficient. Electric pump didn’t inflate it enough. Also find folding mattresses in two then four and lying on it to deflate works pretty well but is a bit of a pia. Haven’t tried the other pumps, just this one.

 

This is a good one. I've used it 25+ times and have yet to recharge it!
To deflate I just fold in half and lay on it.

 

ha I bought it too. it inflates enough but you ned to leaf it on for awhile. I may add the one @frenchee has. the sit and deflate wo rks pretty good.

 

Does the SP close with the valve open or do you have to fully deflate to close the wedge?
How far off is it from being able to leave it fully inflated and close the wedge?

 

I used to just open up the deflate and close and it was mostly ok. I had one time when the deflate was not on and it was pushing open the X1 so I started to deflate. You have to remove all your bedding and only takes a couple minutes.

Have found the Exped Schnozzel Pumpbag works pretty well to inflate the exped if you don't mind some exercise or if you're into bagpipes and need some arm practice.
Much faster and less frustrating than the little pump doo-hickey the exped ships with.

Thanks for the tag. The diesel heater is the cheapest option I found for dry heat. I plan on moving mine into a box on a video in a few weeks just like the videos you tagged above. I love mine.

 

Man, now I'm considering a small porthole window in one of the side doors......

 

I had the slidable/fold down front window on my SnugTop before but I never really used it only to clean the windows here and there. Would definitely be nice to have again but luckily my arm barely fits to clean the windows lol

 

I just open the deflate valve and then lay back down on the mattress. Enough air comes out that I don't have an issue closing the camper. That's without any bedding up top, I stuff sleeping bag and pillow in the exped's stuff sack and toss it down below. To air back up I just open the inflation valve when I pop the camper open and then give it 10-15 with the pump doo hickey. Quick and easy on both ends. But I don't like the mattress to be very firm so maybe I'm not inflating as much as others.
