I recently bought my first Toyota 4X4 and have noticed that the power steering doesn’t seem to work as well as Chevys and Fords I have owned. My question is there anyway to upgrade the power steering to make steering easier??

IMHO, the Taco PS is light compared to our other recent vehicles, but it works well offroad with good feel. Also, growing up GM, they're over-boosted and numb. So, I'd say to give it time. You'll come to like the more firm feel and will be thankful that we still have a hydraulic unit.

Put a bigger pulley on the pump. Steering with a pinky finger in no time.

Wouldn't that be a smaller pulley so that it spins faster? :anonymous:

Honestly! Idk. I spent quite a bit of time thinking about it and it hurt my feeble brain. So I rolled the dice haha.

OP you could inflate your front tires to 100psi and it would help a bit

The OP may be used to the newer electric-power steering systems some of the newer cars and trucks use. I’ve been driving a rented F-250 for work for the past couple of weeks and it’s electric power steering has a lot lighter feel to it then my other vehicles which use a traditional hydraulic system.
