Taking the truck in on Fri. for 10K service. I skipped the 5K as I know it's just tire rotation and filling up the wiper fluid tank. Since it's 1 1/2 hours each way to the dealer, I just rotated my own tires. And I've already done my own oil/filter at 2K miles.
So besides oil/filter - tire rotation - fluids check ...
What else are they supposed to do? I just wanna make sure they do everything they're supposed to do.
    TIA...

As far a I remember not much. It’s an oil change, tire rotation, wash (with complementary swirl marks), messy skid plate, and possible damage to the truck that wasn’t there. But seriously I think they supposedly just check fluids. Nothing major.

    Pretty much it.

OP, you can look in your owners manual and it will have a checklist of items they are supposed to address at each service.

LOL! Yeah, I thought about that, but I just wanted to hear the 'Real World' experiences.
Not every dealership is 'By the Book' and ethical. People cut corners when they're super busy..

You'd be surprised how many people don't know what is in their manual, never hurts to check.

Oil change and kick the tires is about it.

My dealer has a slurpee machine so I usually focus more on that.

^ service advisor. You’ll get an oil change and tire rotation.

    rotations at 5, 15, 25k
    Oil/rotate at 10, 20k.

some VINs will get a cabin filter replacement as well at 10 and 20 or just at 20k.

When they “TIS” your car/truck, which should be done every single service to check what service you’re due for, check history and warning of recalls, ask them to click “TOOLBOX”. It pops up exactly what is done at that mileage interval including the items they are “supposed” to inspect as well as services done at that appointment.

45 minute wait? I wish. I waited 3 hours for a oil change and tire rotation.

they will check the floor mats. They might rotate your tires. If they do, they will tighten the lug nuts down to 600,000 foot pounds.

They will overlook your battery. Fill up your windshield washer fluid. Change the oil. Possibly over or under torque the filter housing.

Just had mine done a week ago. Told them to skip the wash. Couple days later, I re-torqued the lugs and verified that the oil filter had no leaks and dip stick level looked good.

No new pinstripes on the paint job, full washer fluid, and tires were only mildly over-inflated...so I'm a happy customer!

I just replaced the front and rear bushings in my control arms and springs in my farm cart. I went to put the bolts back in and thought... I will never be doing this again. Let's test the tensile strength of these bolts lol. Didn't break them but it will definitely require a long cheater bar for the next guy after I am dead.

    It was satisfying...

If you get a good tech he won't fill your radiator overflow bucket with washer fluid and leave the washer reservoir as is. Better yet if you have a sunroof and not shut it for the free car wash..... The tech may not know how to close it..... You get a free interior wash also. The tech will have the deer in head light look when he brings it back to you and water rolls out of the cab is entertaining also. Seen it at dealership I was at.

OP I'm just curious, since you've already done a couple of oil and filter changes and tire rotations yourself, why are you driving 1.5 hours to have the dealer do the 10K Service?
