Does anyone know what thread size the diff accepts at the breather? I have some extra barb fittings that are 1/4 and 3/8 NPTM....would either of those screw in instead of using the union? I'm gonna get under and check tomorrow but just got curious if anyone already knew...

My plan was to use one of those instead of buying the toyota union because it's literally the same function...

Edit: Ah, looks to be 1/8...

I just did mine but I’m a first GEN, probably the same thread.

I see that you figured it out but maybe this link will help in your research if you have not noticed it already. Mine came out nice and easy and I did not over tighten it. In my research it made me aware that some of the thread would still be exposed after installing the new union; and therefore I did not over tighten it. I used Toyota part number 90404-51026 This worked well for a quarter inch line but there is a larger union available for 5/16 inch line.

I have a spare 90404-51026 that I measured with a caliper and it matches up to published dimensions for 1/8 BSPT.

So there I was, underneath the truck about to install the diff breather mod.

I reach to the differential with a wrench to start taking out the stock breather.

No joke, one of these motherfuckers was on my climbing up my arm. I nope'd the hell out of there so fucking fast.

It is now under the truck somewhere, and I have packed my tools for another day.

    Epic.

Why so scared bro, he just wants to go in your mouth and take a sleep.

My wife is obsessed with spiders going in her mouth for some reason. Every time she sees one, that is the 1st thing she thinks. 'OH MY GAWD ITS GOING TO GET IN MY MOUTH'

Usually I would just swipe him off real quick, kill it and go back to business but something about being on your back in a confined space with that thing is a heavy nope.

Crawlspaces are the best. Bugs so big you gotta wait for the dust to settle as they scurry on by. :)

Crawl spaces suck, I looked a house last weekend that was a split level with a big crawlspace.

Whoever built the house thought it would be a great idea to have the furnace in the crawl space at the furthest back corner, so of course I have to go in there to check it out.

Bugs of all kinds - alive and dead, old cat puke the owner probably didn't know about, weird dried liquids, god knows what else.

I don't see what the problem is. If it gets in your mouth, you ate the spider and therefore you're higher on the food chain. :notsure:

This is true. Tell her it's nothing to worry about. Spider isn't interested in her mouth. It's the going in the nose or ear and laying eggs that is their main objective.

    She can sleep easy now.
