I've done both ways. Using the weight of the truck was pretty easy. I was already replacing lca's so it wasn't an issue to do it that way at all. Doing it with the compressor wasn't hard either but it was butt clinching each time i'd zip down on them with an impact to compress the springs.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I had a spring get winking in some clamps....stepped back, nothing. Took a step forward and POW!!! Shit shot across the garage with serious force.
I think it’s worth the money to have someone do this. The amount of times I have had to change out springs vs the chance of having my head taken off.
It’s worth the loot, some things I just let the pros mess with. This is one of them.

Growing up my 2 best friends were missing fingers on their hands. This also was a reminder to not stick your hands in places where a lot of force is applied.

I called around before just to see what my local shop would charge and they said $50 so you're right it's not much to have someone remove the risk. The weight of the truck method in my opinion is pretty low risk though.

Yep, my buddy Brian owns ACC. I remember us jacking around with a setup huge Ironman springs. I mean shit was like 6” lift springs for an FJ80.
We got those suckers bound up in the clamps, an no one had the balls to relieve them lol. I wonder if they are still in the clamp...Jesus!!!

This is part of the reason I bought coilovers this time. With my last set up I set a shop install them and they put the lower spring seat on upside down. I figured with coilovers its gonna because pretty straight forward bolt on swap.

That's not bad. The last shop I called quoted something ridiculous. IIRC it was like $150 each. Nope. I'll do it myself for that much.

Are you having someone install them? Our plan on doing it yourself. We could always do the install at the same time

That's dumb. $300 for 10 mins of their time, unless they are a bush league shop that doesn't have a legit compressor either and they use the sketch ones also haha.

ISO SPC UCAs, and a very low profile set of bed bars to mount an RTT.

Yeah these too high. The RTT I'm ordering is 10" closed, and from the looks of that pic, that's a Smitty which is 14" closed, and it's sitting too high.
Now this is what I'm talkin bout! Thanks Alan!! I guess I'm gonna need to increase the range on my FB searches. Both these, and the front bumper you found me were in Tennessee lol

Dibs on your JBA’s if you sell after finding SPC’s. Jerry will probably scoop them up

Yeah he was eyeing them when I dropped off the tires. He really wants to do red accents. Just ordered a new set of ball joints and boots too, so he'll be set. Find me some SPCs for the low :D
