The Pro's suspension (fox coil over) has nothing to do with tire clearance. The wheels yes.

Your Question should be: "Stock 3rd Gen Tacoma with Pro wheels..."

All 3rd Gen Tacoma's have the same frames, bumpers, fenders, mud flaps, upper control arms, spindles and lower control arms.

Is this a street queen? That matters because sometimes 'large' has a heavy penalty for the 99% road user.

Pro's Fox Suspension setup gives it a 1" lift over non-pros, letting you clear a bit bigger tire. Unfortunately 1" isn't enough to clear 285's without rubbing on the front body mounts. It needs another 1" or so to do that. This should solve the problem of getting the clearance once it is available (https://eibach.com/us/2281/E30-82-069-03-22-TOYOTA-Tacoma-TRD-Pro-pro-lift-kit). You will be able to keep the stock TRD Pro Fox shocks, swap the springs and get the lift you need to clear 285's. I wouldn't use those blocks for the back though. Just an add a leaf or replace the pack. I have the Icon RXT's sitting in my garage right now waiting for the front springs to be available... :/

Any tire that rubs on a factory OR is gonna rub on a factory PRO.

 

Not true, as stated before, pro fox shocks have slight lift, and wheels are different offset than off-road wheels

 

"Slight lift" and a marginally lower offset ain't gaining you the ability to add a tire that is large enough to rub on a stock Offroad.

 

Hmm... Maybe. I just remember reading #17 & 18 on this thread https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/265-75r16-rubbing.406859/ Either way it's gotta go up about an 1" to clear 285's with out any rubbing and the biggest I have heard of without any mods not rubbing is 265/75/16

 

First thing I did on my stock OR was get 265s and they fit just fine. Things have certainly progressed way further since then, but my point remains.

 

Define "rubbing"

 

Lift has nothing to do with tire rub, its all about wheel backspacing and alignment. Unless you are running LT or Drop bracket a "lift" is still the same factory geometry and suspension cycle. A Pro with a higher ride height has the same suspension geometry as the other models..
