In my youth, I worked as a tamp and foil machine operator for centerfire cartridges at Remington. The foil was just some red paper that was cut to the size of the primer body and used to compress the primer mix during the tamp operation. We kept the primers and mix wet with alcohol during assembly. I guess it was denatured alcohol.

After they were assembled, the truckers would take them out to the drying hut. I remember we had "primer truckers" that rolled around steel-wheeled carts to cart around a tote box full of primers. They took the primers to and from the drying huts. Once in a while a primer would get run over by the wheel and pop off. The primer mix was green and the dust was in the air and usually all over you. If you had light or gray hair, it would turn green from being exposed to the primer dust.

I remember wearing special grounding shoes so I couldn't create any static electricity.

That’s normal price for a trd 4.7 blower. There’s like maybe 100 of them out there and (plus one experimental VVTI blowe I tried getting my hands on) no one makes the TRD blower still. They were discontinued around 04-05 I believe

What's awesome is I don't even know the guy, I talked to the shop manager who started to tell me that won't due to liability and I politely explained why I knew they had that policy and offered to sign a waiver plus told him I'd only be installing OEM bearings and seals. When I explained my sob story of doing all this other rebuild work myself and how I wouldn't even waste their time if I had a heavy enough press to do it myself, he went and talked with his tech.. who said he'd do it off the books with OEM parts

Sometimes being nice and polite and sounding like you know what you're talking about really pays off

So then you're aware of what I'm talking about.

Brake cleaner or WD40 would render them 'inoperable' for a time being, but once they were dry enough, you could still set a primer off.

If you do, let me know if you'd part with it and for how much shipped.

Getting it would prompt me to do more maintenance, and maybe finally getting my transmission cooler installed.

If it was like 4K I’d be all over that. a TVS blower can make some good power if I beefed up the engine. But 7k? Fuck that

I still have tens of thousands of primers; could set them up as a perimeter alarm...
