so it doesn’t happen every time I try to roll the window up, but more often than not when I have a passenger and they try to roll the window up the control won’t work at all until I move the passenger window with the driver side controls so I was wondering what problem this could be if it’s the window regulator or something but I was also wondering if anybody else had this problem where the passenger window won’t work until you tap the control on the driver side

My guess would be the motor. I also guessed I would be a millionaire by now, so..

If it works every time from the driver side and not the passenger side until you mess with the driver switch I'd bet you have a bad driver switch as the ground has to go through it to get to the passenger switch.
You could verify powers and grounds at the passenger switch easily with a test light or DVOM when it won't work and see what's missing.

From my understanding it's a master and slave system. All the power is ran through the drivers side main control. So when you flick it sounds like you are having an intermittent connection issue in the driver's side switch panel. That's where I'd start.

    That’s mostly true.
And for all intents and purposes it is “correct”.

But, it’s not the power that power that is ran through the Driver’s Master Switch.
It is the Ground. Each switch has its own separate power from separate fuses.
They all share the same ground. Which is in the master switch.

In the case of OP ‘s particular problem.
I’d venture to guess, it is a bad contact on the DOWN side of the Master Switch (Drivers) for the passenger window.
As the only path to ground when the passenger rolls the window up, is through the Down side connection on the Master switch.

I’m not picking on you buddy.
I’m just helping clear up how the system works.

Had the same issue on my '15 a couple of years ago. Pass window / switch was intermittent, (sometimes it would go down and not go back up) always worked with the drivers side master switch so I didn't get to concerned. One day I pulled the pass switch out and disassembled it. Everything looked fine. Test light indicated power to the switch. I reassembled the switch, reinstalled it and it hasn't failed since. Beats me.

I had an intermittent rear passenger side window(from either that window control or the drivers control). I tried swapping rear switches from the other rear door and the window would work fine. Turned out the previous owner had spilled soda or something back there and was causing the switch to not make contact all the time. I had tried cleaning it but I just ended up having to buy a new switch, which was like $50 on Amazon

Similar problem but my drivers side switch for passenger window is intermittent. Passenger switch works fine. I’m thinking it’s the switch but haven’t bothered to check it further.
