I bought the fan from rock auto it’s a genuine GM fan. The controller I’ve had for a year or two. Unlike the Lingenfelter the Autocoolguy has input for the A/C trigger.

I’ll try to reach Autocoolguy tomorrow and see if he can point out what I’m missing. I was just curious if anyone else used this combo before.

It is not designed to run a brushless PWM fan. It PWM the ground of the standard fan to vary the speed of it.

Sawzall, bolts, washers and nuts. Doesn’t show in the pics, but the gap is fully filled with 3M Window Weld.

Need a play by play on this please. Haha holding out on us.

Just had sent an email about looking into a custom shroud but man this looks to be spot on. I want to give this a go.

@loginfailed do you think a 400 Watt fan would be enough for the 4.0 with a supercharger?

I didn’t know that setup wouldn’t work. I’ll have to see if Autocoolguy has anything in the works. I didn’t like the Lingenfelter because of lack of A/C.

I swore I was looking at it and it had an input for a/c signal? I'll look again.

For reference the OEM electric fan on my 3.6 JT is 850w IIRC.

I don’t have the knowledge to calculate it, but probably. My old fan setup used a cheap Dorman from a 95 Volvo and it stayed cool. Only reason I wanted to try the Camaro fan was to be able to blast the F out of my A/C condenser.

It seems that everyone is using that 850Watt fan now. Hell BMW is using a 1000 watt fan on some of the M models. Bad news is it is a lin bus communication. If you can figure that one out I have the fan blade and motor in my garage.

I play with LIN bus on VWs now and then. No idea how it works, but it sucks when modules lose communication for whatever reason. Shit tends not to work right!

One input manual override/activation wire available (AC related activation, manual override, etc.): • Input signal impedance: 100k Ohms. • +12V or ground activation signal wire determined by a DIP switch inside the back cover. • The DIP switch enables and disables a pull-up resistor • Pull-up enabled - ground activation • Pull-up disabled - +12V activation

    from the VSFM-002 instructions.

I was just reading the manual. I don’t know where I read that it didn’t have the ability to do it, but I assumed it to be true since I read it on the internet.

Going to try chatting with Autocoolguy first and see if he has a workaround. If not I’ll try the Lingenfelter.

I recall someone mentioned it on the other thread. That’s why I assumed it didn’t. I knew it had a manual override but everyone assumed that’s all it was from what I recall
