I did actually get my truck airborne once…



Though it was totally by accident…

One time I was out in the New Hope area after finishing up a DoorDash run; It was probably 8-9pm, and dark, and I was on an unfamiliar and very poorly lid (UNLIT) road in the middle of nowhere. It was not long after I’d gotten the lift kit installed (sometime in March or April 2021).

There was a train track at the top of a fairly steep hill, and I gave it a little gas; What I did not realize was that there was a steep hill on the other side of the track as well. I had both the high-beams and the fogs on, but I still didn’t see what was coming. The posted speed limit was 45 MPH and I was going slightly more than that but less than 50…

I didn’t realize there was a steep hill on the other side as well until it was too late, and I know that my truck actually went airborne over that train track…



I was not going fast enough, nor did I land hard enough, to cause any damage; That was scary though!

 

FUN FACT: My Toyota truck currently has Volvo-branded brake fluid in it…

On the day Pete did the front brakes earlier this year, he bled the brake system and put in new fluid; Pete is a former Volvo technician who started up his own shop a few years ago. He get Volvo factory parts at a discount. In Pete’s own words, this was just fairly generic brake fluid that would work in many foreign and domestic makes of vehicle, but it was only branded with the Volvo name so Volvo could charge more for it. Pete charged me the same he would have charged had he used Toyota-branded brake fluid or even generic stuff, but yeah, my Toyota Tacoma currently comes to a stop with the help of Volvo brake fluid!

 

That sucks!

 

A coworker (CEO’s granddaughter, actually) brought in her 3-year old Bearded Dragon, Leo…

 

Leo is much more docile than he looks, and enjoys be held and petted…

 

At my place of employment, pretty much everyone loves animals, though a few of my coworkers were a bit freaked out by Leo; Here I am holding holding him…

 

The Westin bull bar is arriving today; Certainly didn't expect it to arrive this quickly!

And for those of you don’t know, I work for a defense contractor called NAVMAR Applied Sciences Corporation; We build unmanned aerial vehicles (drones to the layperson). Pictured on the bumper magnet below is one of our aircraft, the Tiger Shark!

 

This “tailgate magnet” started life as a bumper sticker; I obtained some scrap magnetic sheeting from Bob Shaw Signs (same guy who made my “Kessel Run” magnet, seen below, and numerous other magnets for me) for free and turned the NAVMAR sticker into a magnet!

 

My dad is a VP and at NAVMAR and had these vinyl stickers custom made when we built the “Garage Majal” two years ago…

 

Now, back to business…
