The two questions that have been posted many times, with absolutely no answer from the OP are:

    1. Are you actually bottoming out, or do you just want a free lift?
    2. Why don't you take it to one of the other 9 dealers in Pittsburgh?

I seriously doubt that Ford, GM, Dodge, Nissan, etc. will have any better customer service. Just sayin'.

    .

FWIW ... I had the same problem with the "Rear Spring TSB" until I talked to the right person ... then everything was fixed.

IMO .. you are perhaps looking for an excuse to trade ...

Good luck with your decision and you may be jumping from the frying pan into a hot fire with a Cheby. ...

What IS comical is how you have yet to say why you haven't tried another dealership. If you thought the truck was any good, you'd have tried that, previous to putting your head on the chopping block by posting what you did. Seriously looking like you want an excuse to go back to a Chevy. Couple of folks have said go for it; maybe that's all you need, as it seems that's all the support you're going to get.

I have never had a problem with my dealer or their service department. Seems to me that the OP was making an unreasonable or unfounded request.

Wel, if you want to get rid of your auto-dimming mirror with camera moniter, I'll swap with you and give you a little dough. :D

Let me know, send me a PM. btw, the dealer wont ever know you swapped it out.

Ok so... Do you (OP that is) think that by trading off the truck you will be teaching the dealership a lesson?

i think we can come to the conclusion that the OP is not going to answer any of our questions..

who knows what his reasoning is, but either way, who really cares, i say sayanara (sp?) and maybe we can all stop asking the same question over and over?

This is a pretty good call. If the OP is unhappy-Who are we to judge him?? Let him go get another truck that comes equipped with obviously better service.

This is is good for some lulz tho.

You don't like the leaf springs, so your gonna take a several thousand dollar hit on a truck to get a domestic?

Buy some customs leafs and call it a day. You'll end up with better leafs than factory and it wont cost you near what a new truck does.

Also, good luck with Chevy service. When I had an Avalanche 1500 Z66 my Chevy dealer was as useful as wet toilet paper.

Said a million times by now, but try a different dealer. Getting rid of something you love just because the dealership sucks is dumb. Would you rather have something that sucks but get great service at the dealership when you constantly have it in for repairs? I have nothing against Chevy if you wanted that cause you need more capability or like it better then fine, but you said you love the Tacoma so it seems stupid.

Well, I have sat here and read all of the replaies. I knew I would stir things up with the "Chevy" comment. That is not what I was trying to do. But, I am ticked off at the dealer that I purchased my truck from. It is just principle that I want to go back to this dealer. I bought the truck from them and they should take care of anything issues that it may have while still under warranty. I have put some weight in the back. I had 400 lbs in the back and I did not like how it was sitting. I was riding nose up. Upon telling the young service tech about that, he said that (everyone listen to this) the Tacoma was not designed to haul that much weight and that if I wanted to haul that much, I should have gotten a different truck. That is what ticked me off the most. The tech obviously does not know what he is talking about and he is the one that decides that what happens to my truck? Believe me, I do not want to trade my truck in. I have already done the complete replacement of the stereo and speakers. Also, I have my full leather interior scheduled to be installed on Saturday of this week. So, with after putting another $3400 into it, why would I really want to get rid of it? I went with the Tacoma so I could make it what I want. I just did not count on the lousy service that I would be getting. Yes, I have had problems with Chevy dealerships in the past. They are all the same. After you sign the papers and they get your money, they do not want to take care of you until your warranty is up and you actually have to pay for something out of your own pocket. Believe me, i do not want to get rid of it. It is a great looking truck as well as fantastic in the snow.

As for everyone that responded to this thread, I took all the comments. Maybe I deserved some of them. But for the name calling that was included, that was not warranted. As for the responses that gave me advice, it is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Well, I'll pop my 2 cents in here and try to be friendly.

1.) As soon as the tech said the truck wasn't designed to haul that much, I would have said, "Thank you for your opinion, please get your manager, I'm done speaking with you." No excuse for that much stupidity in the tech. That alone would have made me go to another dealership

2.) If you read the TSB, you'll see it's to remedy a "Harsh" ride and the truck bottoming out. Not to fix "riding nose up." Sure it probably will fix that, but they're not going to put it in to alleviate that.

3.) You state, "I did not like the way it was sitting". Don't mean to be rude, but Tough Shit. There are lot of things I don't like about my Taco, but I don't expect them to be fixed under warranty. Warrantys are to fix problems with the truck, not dislikes. Riding nose up is not a problem. Bottoming out is.

Again, trying not to be rude, but the TSB explicitly states what it fixes. If you don't have those symptoms, the dealer doesn't need to put it in.

I will agree that the service tech's comment was out of line though.

Just take it to another dealership if your truck is still under warranty or take it to a regular mechanic and have the work done there. I only deal with the dealership when I have too. Since my truck is not under warranty anymore I really don't need to deal with a dealership.

Well apparently the dealer you got the truck from is full of retards. Everyone has said it...go to a different dealer!

They're not all stupid like that. Who cares if you take it to the one you bought it from? If it's a Toyota dealership, they have to take care of it whether you bought it there or not. So just suck it up and do it.

HOWEVER...if it hasn't hit the bumpstops, it does NOT qualify for the TSB. So you might get mad at the next dealer too, when they won't do it for you. You can't blame that on service.

Sounds like the Tech is a complete imbecile, even more of a reason to go to another dealer.

X2... I chose my dealership based on them being most convenient and so far, have been happy with the service. For example, I asked if they were TSB friendly and described that I am having harsh ride (bottom out with load). First they tried to explain that the stiffer spring would not give as good of a ride. I explained that I understood but would rather have stiff than bottoming out. They said they would order the parts..... I told them to take their time as long as they are in by the time I am ready for 5k service.
