I saw a post on here recently and cannot find it so I figured I would look at my truck. The passenger side spring appears to be rubbing at the top. I don’t know a lot about this so is this ok? If not what do you suggest I do?

I have 15k miles in the truck. Purchased with the Eibach lift already in it.

First picture is the passenger side (rub). Second picture is drivers side.

    Thanks

I would say normal. They wind the spring hot to a certain size. Then they cut the top to sit flat. The rust spot is where the top flat part rubs against the regular portion just from the spring compressing. When the spring compresses they tend to twist...so you get a little rub. Spray some fluid film on it or something similar. It will help fight the corrosion for a little while longer.

Might be on the other side as well, just that that spring is rotated about 180 degrees. I would also just spray something like fluid film on it. Heck I have several spots on my springs where paint is now missing. Mostly due to my wrenching among other things.

Quite normal. For reference, the spring on my bike:

Thanks for the replies. I will look into spraying something on it. Glad it’s normal.
