Lets put it this way...mud flaps do help, but aren't any guarantee you'll still get paint chips from stones.

My OEM mudflaps got torn off my 1st gen by rocks within the 1st year that I owned it, they were quite long. I use cheap ones now. Don’t get expensive ones if you offroad a lot, waste of money.

I see where you guys are going with this... if i epoxy rocks to my sliders, problem solved. No scratches, rock on rock contact. Just glue on new rocks every now and again

I have stock mudflaps and the area in front of the rear wheels is peppered with rockchips. I can see the rocks flying in my side mirrors when I’m ripping down the FSRs. I’m getting a bit tired of touching up, but oh well...

Do u have the clear 3M film thats usually in that area? U can get pre-cut replacements from a dealer.

I do. The rocks hit the areas above the PPF, also the front part of my rear fender flares is like rough sandpaper.

Had a few rocks hit my rear passenger doors as well.

Ok. The only way to protect that area from rock chips in my experience is by installing running boards, step bars, or the wider sliders with tops on them.
