I have found that the top closes much better if I deflate the mattress. Also, as I have said, if I follow ExPed instructions and open the inflate valve, stick the little dongle in to create a wider intake opening, open the exhaust valve and pinch it a little so that air can come in, then the mattress self-inflates to 90% in about an hour. At bedtime I close the exhaust valve, add 10-15 pumps from the hand pump, and I'm set. I'm 225 lbs. so I like it firm enough to keep me from bottoming out too hard. FWIW.

I'll do the same thing as Rick does with the Exped mattress an hour before we sleep or when we get to camp, only difference is I attach the little hand pump and instead of squeezing it I simply blow into it 4-5 large breaths and its full inflated.

Might want to consider the moisture in your air when blowing in. I know for insulated backpacking pads they generally say not do to that as it can get mildewy inside over time, but I don't know how much that is actually a problem.

I thought about that and the pump has foam in it so I assumed it would catch most of the moisture, either way very valid point and something to be aware of.

I believe these ones will work. The socket head screws that Gzila sent are 1/4"-20 I think. Does anyone know if that is correct?
    https://www.fastenal.com/products/details/0961703

Also have some of these 15 series M8 t-nuts from Fastenal, but M8 wouldn't work with the GZila brackets, so waiting on the above to arrive.

For the Gzila fly poles I filed down the short side of the bolt and they fit perfectly. See photo.27075957-5E19-4C7A-ABCC-10D99A30FF3A.jpg9E95625E-9DE0-43B8-970C-4034F5BDE52E.jpg

It’s nice to have a drop down to clean the glass or pass things through, but in my last canopy that window leaked like crazy—I’m okay with have a solid window if it means no leaks

The pass through was a huge bummer to lose in the camper. I would always use that to load up wood and what not in the camper shell. Hope they come up with a replacement window with a slider.

Yah that was a lot of the reasoning but I never had issues but def a source for a potential leak.

exactly I used it for similar things. Also nice if you have a dog back there. Mainly I used it for similar moving items. Not the end of the world but would be nice to have it.

I just got my email and they said it’s ready by Monday! I’ll make a trip up there at the end of the month. Any good spots to check out from So Cal ?

Yeah I had the same leaking issue on my drop down window as well. It rains 9 months out of the year here in the PNW so it is bound to happen. If you live in a dry state then it shouldn’t be much of a problem.

Was just curiously looking about for a solution to lift the camper if needed for storage or maintenance.
Have seen one of the other campers have built-in attachment points to make it a bit easier.
For a one person job on the SP would you buy a couple camper lift jacks and rig up some wooden supports to hold it up while you drive out underneath?

I don't see why not. I saw another set for lifting jeep shells. As long as it supports 4-500lbs it should support. Just to give it extra support.

I used to use these on my slide in A liner truck camper, it was about 600lbs. Always made me nervous and uneasy because of only using two points but I never had any scares and they were surprisingly pretty stable. They would easily be able to lift the super pacific but it relies on a balanced center of gravity. Might be hard to achieve due to the overhang and geometry. I’d much prefer 3-4 points contact.

Exactly what I was thinking. Almost forgot about the front would throw that off.

Y'all have an extrusion with a slot along the top of the main body. Put in a few t-nuts on each side with a bolt head or ring and hang it from the rafters and drive away.

I was thinking along those lines but no rafters for me so would have to get creative.

I like the idea of rafters, they would be a nice accessory to have for my SP.

The off-balance from the overhang for an underneath-install is a consideration though. Getting a support under there would seem to be the idea.
